Has anyone heard that the iphone might be on Verizon next year?

Can I get the Omnia online and then exchange it for the Pro if I don't like it? How much time can I keep it before I change it for another phone?

does anyone know if you can send text messages with the regular number keypad instead of having to use a qwerty one?

On the Omnia, yes. You have several keyboards to choose from.

will I be able to unlock this phone and use it on ATT?

No. It is CDMA only. You can't even unlock the Storm, it is only compatible with the European GSM.

Can anyone confirm that Verizon has changed the keyboard on the Touch Pro from what the other carriers have?

Samsung's Omnia is a a far superior phone than the Storm! I've demoed both phones and it is far more responsive, interactive and comparable to the IPhone than the Storm! It's only drawback is that it's Windows based --- Microsoft and the Gates & crew are known to put out crapware and call it revolutionary (ie Millenium, Vista, Zune, WindowsLive, etc.)? RIM's Storm will go down in cell phone history as an epic fail!!! Omnia will suprise IPhone and RIM fanboys by stepping up in the cell phone game! It's not VCAST capable or global but who cares most peeps don't travel outside their mom's house anyway lol

Coming from an iphone user who is about to buy an omnia as a second phone, after using it I have to agree, omnia is better than my iphone, when I used the storm, not impressed, really sad move endorsing the wrong phone on behalf of my employer.

I guess the poor little Samsung Saga is going to get pushed to the background. That's what Samsung gets for releasing a phone that resembles the horrible Motorola Q. I like the fact that it's global though.

Hey I have Verizon and ive been looking at the touch pro and others but the omnia looks great. I like then both but hearing all about the low RAM on the pro will make it go slower but what about the Omnia is it alot more RAM than the pro? Can someone help me decide on which phone to get please.

The Omnia is one of the bes devices that VZW has ever released. You already know the most talked about specs, but it has some features that are worth mentioning. For instance, there is a setting that, when you put the phone down on a surface screen-first, it automatically defaults to "manner mode" and turns off all sounds except the Alarms you have set. The FM tuner uses your attached wired headset as an antennae to pick up the station. You can subscrible to multiple Podcast. You can upload photos to Flickr and get RSS feeds via ShoZu. You can re-orient the screen so that the phone's dial pad is easily usable for left-handed users. There are some other cool features which don't come to mind right now but I will list them when I remember. I'm so bummed about the Touch Pro. I really wanted this phone ( I have the xv6800 ). But it is grossly OVERPRICED!!! I really hope Verizon didn't butcher the interface either. As for the Saga....well, as one post said..."...it's global". That's it.

"The Omnia is one of the best devices that VZW has ever released" I'm sorry, if it was, it would HAVE WIFI and the GPS would be available for any piece of software I might want to load! WTF is wrong with this company??? I already pay the $45/month data-rape fee, just give me access to all the freaking features of the phones PLEASE! I promise I will keep bending over...

To #84, I'm sorry.... that's one of the "features" I forgot to mention in comment #76. It indeed DOES have WiFi. Sorry I didn't mention that....but if it makes you look like a complete idiot then my work here is done.

Hey #84, you might want to do your homework before you post. The Omnia does have WiFi, and why the hell would you want the GPS to work with ANY old piece of software? VZ Nav is just fine ... especially with Gas Finder, Local Search, and Traffic Enhancement features. Third party software only complicates matters and usually isn't that good ( just search Handango ). As for the date-rape fee.... I think you are masturbating because you are only raping yourself if didn't know that VZW has a lower $29.99 Email and Web for Smartphone plan. You wanna have access to all the features? Well, most of those features like ShoZu, RSS feeds, VZ Nav, and others use the web. But idiots like you would use them and then cry to customer service about excess data that you "didn't know about". Thus, the purpose of the mandatory data plans. But you keep right on bending over. Your finger must feel good. And while you're at it, see if you can pull your foot outta your mouth.
