Verizon's Samsung Smooth makes an appearance

Samsung's low-end U340 looks like it's on its way out, with the Smooth U350 coming to take its place. The only changes appear to be with the style of the phone, with the rest of the features remaining the same: 0.3MP camera, 128x160 display, and no microSD card slot. Does Samsung not know this is 2009? A $50 rebate will also be offered with the device and should be out before the end of March.

VZW doesn't believe in only ONE free phone. Only on a Buy One Get One or Buy Any Get One.... the value of the network, plans, etc yadda....yadda....yadda........

samsung does know it is 2009, what all the vz fan people dont know is that not everybody wants all the shit on a phone... some people just want to make calls....

It doesn't surprise me that Samsung will be releasing this phone. The have a lot of good devices out there but once in a while, they release a phone for the "older" crowd who don't want an MP3 player and web capabilities. I just hope they at LEAST make it Bluetooth capable.

The U340 sucks so bad, I hope this new update isn't half as bad as the U340.

The u350 sucks too!! I do not understand the purpose of Samsung launching another CDMA 1XRTT handset...this unit is not EVDO capable. If it were created to market older generations they should have made the case easier to open and the keypad larger and rubbery. The slick keys are hard to type on. The case of the handset is so slick it's next to impossible to even open the clam before the call hangs up. I'm very dissapointed in this handset.
