the only one i'd say MIGHT be better is the Galaxy S II but that's only because LTE is not confirmed. the Vigor will surely be impressive but it definitely won't be better than the Bionic and the Revolution probably won't be unless it has stock Android and it's not Binged. then it would have a chance.

Dual core, 4.5 inch 720p screen on the Revolution 2 and the Vigor. And they don't have MotoBloat 'nuff said.

the dual-cores in either probably won't be as good as the OMAP4 in the Bionic and if that 720p screen comes with more extensive battery drain it'll be worth sticking with qHD for the time being. think about it, the "Revolution 2" will have a bigger, higher resolution screen, LTE & a dual-core processor and it's supposedly as thin as an iPhone 4. think the thing is going to have battery life even comparable to the rumored 15 hours the Bionic gets? plus the Bionic has Webtop which is a really good feature for an LTE phone because essentially it doubles as a 4G enabled netbook and it'll likely get ICS MUCH quicker than the models you mentioned because it has an OMAP4 processor which is the only one officially supported by ICS. oh and if the "Motorola Application's Platform" is anything like it is on the Droid 3 which i OWN btw it'll be a much better experience than you can get on ANY other Motorola phone currently availiable oh and there's also Motorola's reliability when it comes to sound quality and wireless radios. need more?

If ICS is anything like Gingerbread has been, we will not see it on most phones until late 2012 or early 2013 anyway, so I'm not too worried about the whole ICS thing TBH. Battery life is of no concern, honestly. I've dealt with the Thunderbolt and managed to get it to last all day on a single charge, worst case scenario I'll purchase a back up or 2. And I have a laptop, I can use pdanet I really would never use webtop. You may be correct that the OMAP4 processor is better than the rumored snapdragon processors, but it wouldn't be noticeably better for what I would use it for. I hate the qHD on both the X2 and Droid 3, it is good on battery, bad on the eyes IMO.

okay, whatever you want to do is fine, i don't care but the Bionic still has everything i mentioned over the other releases this quarter. like i said, it'll still get the update quicker no matter how long it takes for the updates to start rolling out i'll bet you the Bionic is one of the first ones if not THE first one other than the Nexuses of course. the Thunderbolt only has 4G LTE as a big power drain and it has terrible battery life when not dealt with. well OMAP is still better. that's your argument right? the other phones are better. you aren't really telling me how they are better, you're telling me why you could do without the better features of the Bionic. it's not bad on my eyes. i got used to it. especially considering it saves battery life.

4.5 inch 720p HD screen. I said that earlier in my second post of the thread. With apps like Netflix, the Verizon Video service, and other video streaming this is a HUGE selling point for these 2 phones. That is enough to make them better. They don't need a laptop dock. Who wants to spend $200+ on an accessory for a $300 phone anyway?

yeah, i saw that. i think qHD looks fine for video playback. it won't make them better if battery life is the trade off to have those fancy screens. because one you can have the netbook experience without having to get tethering or paying for data on another line and two while you're watching Netflix on your tiny 4.5" screen i'll be watching Netflix on my Laptop Dock and if i wanted to keep watching what i was watching on the go i'd have the battery life to finish what i'm watching and not have to sacrifice having my phone or have to change batteries all day

the 4.5" screen is perfect for video on the go or while not at a TV. The laptop dock defeats the purpose of a mobile phone, which is to be mobile. If I am at home there is technology such as DLNA, HDMI, etc. and with full HDMI mirroring, I could watch the netflix movies on my 55". Here battery life is absolutely nothing because you can plug the phone in to charge it. I know you are a Moto fanboy and everything, but you have to admit that the Vigor and Revolution 2 spec for spec beat the bionic. 1.5 ghz dual core + 1 GB ram > 1 ghz dual core + 1 GB ram. 4.5 inch 720p HD > 4.3 inch qHD.
Also, I would rather pony up an extra dollar a day for tethering that can be stopped at any point than pay $200+ for an accessory for my phone.

you're still not getting it. there's still a degree of mobility with a laptop dock and i can still take it out and watch it on the go while the 4.3" qHD screen with the Bionic's superior battery life will let me ACTUALLY watch something. the 1.5GHz dual core will probably just be an MSM8660 that's not underclocked and that still won't even beat a 1GHz OMAP4430. you know there will be cheaper bundles so don't give me that.

Please explain how these other phones are better? first of all, you haven't seen any of these phones, the samsung s2 doesnt have better specs. So basically u are judging a phone off of rumors.

Bionic vs GS2? It all comes down to preference in screen(I personally can't ever go back to regular screens, Amoled looks incredible), battery life and the big deciding factor(IMO) is the LTE. If the GS2 doesn't have LTE that is a 100% deal breaker. Again, after tasting these godly speeds I can't go back to 3g, I can update like 15 apps in about 1 minute, load web pages in 3 seconds, use streaming apps without the need to ever buffer. I just can't wait til 2 years from now to see what phones are going to be like. Holograms please.

So tired of this....

The Bionic is coming on Verizon....The Nexus Prime is not.

It is not like you have a choice.

We KNOW...not guess...not assume...not rumor...KNOW the sgs2 is a 3g phone. If you are cool with that for the NEXT TWO YEARS then go drop $300 for one. In Oct.

I am done waiting. Bionic is the one.

Sadly I am thinking as a Verizon customer, you are right. Though I think I will wait for a price drop.

all of these conversations really pointout one major thing

Motorola REALLY SCREWED UP THE RELEASE ON THE BIONIC!!!!

I am in the same boat with many here and on other sites....the Bionic was my next phone....no doubt about it. I have been a Motorola fan for many many years.....from their phones to the Motorola surfboard....bluetooth headsets....so on and so forth. I was just holding my upgrade waiting for the Bionic....$G...Duel Core....oh baby

and I waited

and waited

and waited

now......Sorry Motorola....you can release it now but with the choices that I have coming (Vigor,Function,Prime,Rev2) I can not commit to it at this point....I have to see these other phones first.

you BLEW your window of opportunity with MANY of the customers you were dying to get......they COULD have had a nice 4 month window to DOMINATE the market and blew it. Somebody in the senior management needs to be shown the door for this major gaffe. I bet the sales on the Bionic will be less than HALF what they expected and they have no one to blame but themselves

as an add on......with making people wait like you did and push the release so close to the next wave of super phones...to come out and price it at 299.00 was just damn ignorant

it seems nowadays that the frequent release of smart phones has created a culture of people who don't buy phones to use them but they buy them to have some sort of bragging rights to make the next persons phone seem inferior. at first, to numerous people, the Bionic was a must have but now its like its old news & the phone hasn't even released yet. SGSII (which i think is ridiculously overhyped - same form factor as most of the Samsung smart phones out there, just enhanced options under the hood just like the Bionic - so i don't get the how the situation is diff. for the SGSII, Vigor or Prime) this is all people talk about on this site, which is leaving very little room for Android-users to chastise iPhone users for the dedication to iOS. new phones to replace the current tech is always going to be the case. All manufacturer's are guilty of slight changes & similar designs to their previous models.

As far as pricing goes, why would anyone expect the same cost for something that is newer technology? You want it all...you're going to have to pay for it. 4G radios cost...that HD video capture and all the high end processors cost. Its amazing to me how people don't want last year's tech in a device but they expect to pay last year's prices for new tech. Kinda selfish i think. Last time i checked...32GB iPhone's are selling pretty decently as well as Droid Charge at the $299 price tag. If its that important to you, you won't let a $100 differential stand in the way of something you really want...i know i wouldn't.

Man this looks just like the Photon for Sprint, I am so tired of waiting for this phone. DON'T GET IT TWISTED I love Android but I think I may have to move over to Apple. I have had the OG X and now the X2. They both are freezing, random rebooting, getting hot, force closing and error messages. Just too many problems to keep up with.
