Verizon's CFO says the carrier will diversify with a big Windows Phone push around the holidays

Verizon's Chief Financial Officer Fran Shammo said in the Q&A session after the earnings release yesterday "we're really looking at the Windows Phone 8.0 platform because that's a differentiator. We're working with Microsoft on it". He went on to add that Verison will have new phones with the next generation of Microsoft's mobile OS in time for the holiday shopping season, and that Verizon might do with WP what it did with Android - pouring a huge marketing budget into the original Droid campaign, which served as a rocket fuel for the green robot's current popularity...

This is great news for WP fans at Verizon! I also believe the 12MP sensor would make for a better looking phone compared to the humpback necessitated by the 41MP sensor.

Hmm Verizon had hard feelings toward Microsoft due to failure to sell many Microsoft Kin Phones. therefore I think Verizon will sell a good Nokia Windows 8 smart Phone and an advanced HTC Windows 8 smart phone since it Already has an arrangement with HTC but I think that's is far as Verizon will dare to go with Windows 8 smart phones. Folks that's some improvement at least. Now Verizon customers have more Windows smart phone choices to select to buy Windows 8 smart phones from Verizon. Windows 8 smart phones will have The High Tech smart phone components that will enable them to compete with any Iphone or Android smart phone there fore Verizon will be selling it's customers a smart phone worth buying because it has good technology and will be selling at a cheap price probably because Nokia wants to sell lots of them.

It wasn't Verizon's failure the Kin phones didn't take of. Consumers just don't like the phone. They were more geared towards the younger crowd and have many incompatibilities with features of other Verizon phones, like the inability to work with backup assistant to keep your contacts safe. These phones are a nightmare to work with.

The only thing that kept me an AT&T customer was my desire to try WP. While I am now with the Evil Empire until November, 2013, Big Red keeping a line of WP from here on out is good for me!! I am sure I will.grab a WP 8 outright somewhere before then, but options are nice!!

Very excited about this as I am on Verizon. Also think it is great for Windows Phone 8 because Verizon's support can have a huge impact on its success.
