I wouldn't be so happy about wider availability of Verizon's Backup Assistant. I am a user of Verizon's Samsung Convoy with Backup Assistant. Of course, when it works properly, it is very convenient. But it is extremely unreliable and buggy, giving me an endless array of problems.
It has changed passwords on me, requiring Verizon tech support to reset it for both phones on my account.
I never could get it to print my address book from the website, but fortunately I have been able to save my addresses as a CSV file. While Verizon says the CSV file is for Microsoft Outlook, it opens easily in Microsoft Excel.
Recently duplicate address book entries started appearing on my phone. There were too many to delete from the phone, so I deleted them online. When I tried to sync the online addresses with the phone, it did not remove the duplicate entries. When I deleted all my addresses from my phone to start anew, it stopped syncing entirely. That's were I sit now, waiting for a call back from Verizon's high level tech support.
In all fairness to Verizon, I must say their tech support people are very helpful and patient. The quality of their technical support and customer service in general is superior to their rivals.
