How about for everything else BUT the internet? Some people want a physical keybaord, no data plan and no cheap ass LG phones! Oh yeah - and no Windows, Blackberry or VZW OS!!!

If you don't want the internet dont get an internet based phone. I don't understand people that get upset that you need a data plan for a smartphone. Its like buying a corvette and asking them to only put a 4 cylinder engine in it because you dont want to drive fast. Just doesn't make sense!

Yes this is going to be a smartphone and will require ( as always ) the $30.00 data plan for smartphones.

BS. No one sets out to buy a phone for the internet. Practically all phones have internet capability and it is NOT the priority on these phones. We get upset because some of us want the hot phone with all features EXCEPT for the internet. Why? Internet on a phone (my opinion) is a waste of time. The screens are too small to be useful. Just because a phones has internet does not mean that we have to be charged for it. These phones do other things but the phone netwrk is not needed to use them so they can't charge for them. You example was not good. We want the Vette, but we just don't want to be forced to buy the after market rims and service plan for the rim that we don't want!

I'm not liking it. I agree with all that said the old model looked better. I noticed they kept the same font as the old calgary for the keys but it still doesnt look as satisfying as the other model. Hopefully they change that. This just looks like DROID Jr. Verizons service is great, theres no doubt about that but COME ONN... verizons phone line up sucks balls.

This idea of making people get a data plan because they want a hot looking phone with features that the cheap ones do not have, BUT who may not want to use the useless internet is the biggest racket since coffers! Where is the government on this? This data plan shit will make people got to those smaller outfits who have everything included or those who do not require it. I know - the network, but some of these small outifts use the VZW network - like Sprint does...

@ n0gar2. The data usage its not a mere add-on like 5 or 7 years ago, its become almost vital due the social networking, uploading photos, watching videos, etc. Now the newer smartphones there almost data dependable like the WebOS. So it means that most of the people who has a smartphone has a heavy data usage & as you seen in other news cellphone companies & internet providers are looking for more free spectrum because the current spectrum that has the US for data usage its almost full ,even like 2 months ago I saw an article that Microsoft creating the "White-Fi" spectrum with white areas of spectrum residing between analog Tv channels.(linkhttp://www.phonescoop.com/news
/item.php?n=4714) Well I know that its sucks to get a high end smartphone & get stuck with data to use it & for getting a MIR ,but its because they have to maintain & expand their data spectrum to avoid a data outage due that the data spectrum its full. Thats I think with info that I got from the web.

That info you got was BS. It is all about money as but so many people can have cell phones, so the market is about tapped. Data is the only way to get revenue as of now. Instead of waiting for people to take it and hope that they make a profit, they force it on us or create schemes so that we get a plan (Premium or connect) in order to have a steady flow of money.
