Verizon to take pre-orders on Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and Samsung Galaxy Gear starting Friday

0. phoneArena 04 Sep 2013, 20:38 posted on

With the introduction on Wednesday of the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and the Samsung Galaxy Gear smartwatch, all four major U.S. carriers jumped into the action by announcing that they would be carrying both the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and the Samsung Galaxy Gear Smartwatch; T-Mobile put up a pre-registration page for the phablet, asking you for information so that you can be contacted when the device is ready to be pre-ordered...

Probably $299, after a $50 rebate.

Samsung is starting to get a little crazy with pricing. I can understand $299 especially since the Note 2 16gig was $299 but any more I'm not buying on first day. I'll wait until Samsclub has it for $200.

I predict the 64GB model to be $799; I would be shocked if it came in any lower.
The only reason I'll even consider getting it is because 10GB of on-board storage just isn't enough for yours truly even with a 64GB memory card.

I'm not too happy with the micro-increase in screen size, though, may just as well be called a Galaxy iNote 2S!

They can only keep increasing the screen so much without an increase in an already enormous body size. From looking at the size of the bezel, a .2 inch increase seems pretty decent.

The size is already big enough. It just needed a resolution bump. That 6" Sony phone is border line ridiculous. Put a metal back on it it would be considered a a bulletproof vest.

Using your logic, by the time they reach the Note 6 it will already be in the 7 inch tablet category.

Ideally, I would rather that happen with Note 4.

Most Likely $699 plus tax off contract.

Why is it a phone cannot be announced and the OEM gives full pricing information, when you can pre-order it and when it will ship/be available for sale?

Well, if you have Verizon, you will find out in about 35 hours .. LOL

If you have T-Mo', you can go sign-up now to be notified when pre-orders start [next year] …

If you have Sprint, wait until they finish reporting their 6.5 Billion in new debt …

If you have AT&T: my sincerest sympathies!! (That goes for Sprint, too) …

Ha!!!! I just thought of something: while the other carriers are putting up activating their "Sign-Up" pages so customers can "Register" to be notified of when they might be able to "Pre-Order", Big Red will actually start "Pre-Orders"!! Gotta' luv' being a Verizon Customer now [that's for all you HATERS who incessantly bitch about Verizon price plans just because you didn't jump on the Unlimited Data bandwagon 8 years a'freakin'go: HA!!!!

Not doing it. When I preordered my Note 2 I had to wait for delivery. I could have walked right into Verizon at 9am instead of waiting for FedEx. I picked up my wife's iPhone 5 10 minutes before open and I was able to get the model I wanted. The fools stood in line all night long.

Yeah, bad call. I walked into the Verizon store on W42nd at around 8:31 on the morning of November 29, 2012, still remember it like it was yesterday. Everyone had pre-ordered and was home waiting for FedEx; I was walking around midtown with my Galaxy Note 2. A few lucky folks got theirs' early [on Wednesday] but, only a few; I heard stories of people waiting until 3pm (the cut-off delivery time). Ironically, they were the smug ones who were highly critical of the ones who chose to buy their Note 2's in person. Well, you live and you learn.

Lol.. no way it will be near #1. Most people don't want a phablet. Most that buy it I know are women because they can carry it in their purses. This thing won't fit in any fitted pants without looked retarded. It'll remain mainstream-niche.

Lg G2 ftw!

more compact, perfect size , thinner bezel

best camera around, so far

same CPU, same GPU

longer battery life : 3000mah for 5.1inches vs 3200mah for 5.9 inches

better screen: IPS vs amoled,

and perhaps the FAUX leather turn me off, Samsung just doesnt want to spend a little more to get better quality

I agree with Samsung being cheap with build material, but am puzzled by you calling them out while promoting the only other major player still skimping on that area with a plastic flagship phone.

Just because Verizon is going to be the first to take your money, doesn't mean it will ship first.
