LG has come out with quite a few QWERTY messaging phones for Verizon over the years, from the original VX9800 in 2005 to the enV3 and enV Touch last year. But for Sprint the Rumor and Rumor 2 have been pretty big sellers, so why not make a device like that for Verizon? Well, LG has done just that with the Cosmos VN250, which is expected to be released on March 25th. Features of the LG Cosmos will be pretty similar to the Rumor 2, as it will have a sliding 4-row QWERTY keyboard, front numeric dial pad with navigation d-pad, 2" display, 1.3MP camera, microSD memory card slot, microUSB data port, and a 2.5mm headset jack. We're waiting to hear-back from our source on the pricing, but it is expected to be budget-priced device as it only features 1X data (no EVDO) like the Samsung Intensity U450. Good news here is that the Cosmos will not require a data plan.

Thanks to a friend for the info!

VZW needs some more messaging phones that do not require data...Hopefully this will be an improvement over the rumor 2...cosmetically its a refresh, but the Rumor was very buggy...possibly just a Sprint issue...who knows

The problem is, everyone who wants a touch screen will have to have some data plan period. Just the way things are going. I think for the most part, non-data messaging phones are going to look like this as a standard or like the razzle. Just is what it is. not a bad messaging phone though. Just not sexy....

Samsung makes horrid phones, so this will be 100x better than an Shitensity. And, yes, this will shut up those that complain about wanting a trump phone, but don't want to pay for it's features.

Samsung doesnt make shit phones. Samsung makes shitty phones that are supposed to be cheap. You get what you pay for with samsung and i have the alias 2 and it works amazingly.

Samsung is actually one of the best mobile brands sold in the US... LGs recently have been giving carriers nothing but problems. Poor battery life, glitchy operation and random power cycling. So yea.....
