Verizon testing same day delivery for online orders

Here is something that should quicken the pulse rate of many PhoneArena readers. Verizon is testing a new program in Philadelphia that would allow those ordering devices with or without accessories from Verizon's website, to have the order arrive the very same day; of course, that type of instant gratification doesn't come free. The cost of the same day delivery is $19.99 which is $5 more than priority overnight...

This is a nice option to have. However, since most people don't buy cell phones as frequently as say, food or other things that may require same day delivery, my pulse rate is unchanged here. Consider that VZW has retail stores all over the place so why not save $19.99 and walk over to the store and avoid waiting all afternoon until the courier stops by (whom you most likely have to tip as well). Amazon's same day local delivery is where the value is ($4 with Prime) since they have no retail locations I can walk to.

well for those like myself that prefer the impersonal approach & would like to not have to visit the store this would be a great option. it would be most convenient on big launch days for flagship phones (if that is an option) as you wouldn't have to deal w/wait times or no stock at the store. you could go about your day doing other things while your phone is in transit.

It's ppl like that order phones online but when u have a problem where do u go... To the store to waste a rep time when they could be selling hmm yeah you pay x amount of money for your service but think again they won't do anything more or less than the customer over the phone

why shouldn't i be able to go to the store? i've spent the money on the phone like everyone else. i pay my bill like everyone else who goes to the store. should i be penalized b/c i don't need my hand held when it comes to getting a phone? is the store only there to sell me something & that's it? sounds like that might be your approach...& if it is, that's not good.

Technically that's what the store are made for... The problem is 9/10 times the problem can be taking care on your own not saying you but 9/10 customer come with problems they can call and fix or do it online e

"those in the 18-34 year-old demographic with 6 figure incomes, known as "affluent millennials". Who is 18 and makes a six figure income. I know there are a few, but is there really enough to warrent something like this. I would think not and it dosen't say much for us as a society when we cant even wait for a phone for a week. Save yourself some money and learn to be patient.
