Verizon stores selling out of the Samsung GALAXY Nexus, inventory shifted to meet demand

0. phoneArena posted on 15 Dec 2011, 15:01

With such pent-up demand, it might come as no surprise that some Verizon locations have sold out of their inventory of the Samsung GALAXY Nexus; according to a Verizon spokesman, stores have seen long lines and Verizon has shifted around inventory to meet the demand for the first Android 4.0 phone...

Good for Android.

Got mine this morning. Northgate Mall, VZW store. Was $250 after work discount! Soooo pretty... Also, $40 for battery + charger + USB splitter = very worth it. Charger acts as a nice dock too.

17. 14545 posted on 15 Dec 2011, 19:11 1 1

USB splitter? Can you link to this. I'm trying to find this in the accessories on VZW but I don't see it.

32. icesick06 posted on 16 Dec 2011, 06:13 1

Its not available as a separate accessory that I know of. My splitter came in the box with the extra battery.

I would pay 299$ for a 1-year contract .. not 2 otherwise i prefer paying around 740$ and not be Verizon bit*h for 2 years!

18. 14545 posted on 15 Dec 2011, 19:14 5

Why? Even if you bought the phone at 299 and canelled after 14 days you would still only have 650 in the device versus 729. So either way you're still not "vzw's bitch", just pay to break the contract. Trust me, if you threaten to leave they will bend over backwards to try and stop you. (assuming you pay your bills)

4. roldefol posted on 15 Dec 2011, 15:24 9 1

And yet Verizon still considers the Razr to be its flagship phone. The people demand ICS!

6. protozeloz posted on 15 Dec 2011, 15:39 2 2

This should be a message to VRZ and the manufacturers

and this phone would be selling better if it where released earlier

Seems to be selling pretty well to me..

Ok that one was pretty good! I love WP7 but you made me laugh for once.

11. Nathan posted on 15 Dec 2011, 16:27 3 3

Imagine if this thing would have came out sooner, the sells would have been even better.

13. superguy posted on 15 Dec 2011, 16:55 2 3

Went to a VZW store in Columbia, MD today at lunch and got the very last phone in the store. :)

I still have the Rezound. Going to give this a whirl and keep the one I like the best.

15. trin posted on 15 Dec 2011, 17:44 4 2

Lol. Stores are selling out of the device. How much better could the sales be? People giving up their first born for the right to own one? smh. Verizon has a winner on their hands with this one.

Can't wait to own one. Played with it and its an entirely new android experience. Smooth and responsive. Camera/Camcorder is fun to use and amazingly fast. Screen is visually orgasmic. They really do give you a clean slate to work with. The phone is almost bare-bones. The options for customization seem endless. Nice Device. Anywho just my 2 cents.

radioshack has them in stock everywhere

20. jess0417 posted on 15 Dec 2011, 21:47 1 1

Can't wait to get mine... :-) oh so very excited!!!!!!

21. itzmando posted on 15 Dec 2011, 22:03 2 1

Plan to get a GN at costco, I feel their 280.00 with accessory pack is worth it rather than VZW stores deal. My mom just renewed our contract and got 2 samsung stratospheres one for her and my lil sis(christmas gifts) for 20.00 each for upgrade tonight. Compared to VZW charging their bogo deal 150.00 for 2 WTH!! She was proud to go in and see the current offer.
Asked how many GN do they have in stock and they only have 3 when they started off with 15 this morning. I couldnt get mine right then and there since we plan to remove me from our family plan to have a different contract, but was told need to go in a VZW store to get that done.

I bought my phone today! I have waited a while and was very excited when I got the phone. I'm sorry to say that I'm not overly impressed with the phone! I'm not in a 4g area but thought that the 3g would kick ass. It f**king sucks the phone is really slow downloading apps and is dropping calls like crazy! ICS is pretty cool but not mind blowing! I hope that this phone gets better real soon!

23. kpfirefighter posted on 15 Dec 2011, 22:46 1 3

Plus the f**king thing keeps turning off!!!!!!!!!

33. icesick06 posted on 16 Dec 2011, 06:29 1

I don't know what to tell ya there.. I got mine yesterday and have had no major problems what so ever. As for your 3G signal, what was it like on your old phone. I can honestly say that 9 of out 10 times, getting a different phone is not going to change the connection quality in your area unless said old phone is FUBAR. I used to work with reps that would say, "You get this phone, and you'll have better service on it than your old one." Then what happens? Said customer is back in a week later because they were promised better service on the phone they just bought. Every phone I've owned, there has been negligible difference in the cell service received to the phone. They just don't differ as much as they used to. That's just my thoughts.

39. kpfirefighter posted on 16 Dec 2011, 11:22

good explination thank you

40. robinrisk posted on 16 Dec 2011, 12:53

you are pretty much right, but there are some exceptions.

I used to have a Galaxy S, then Switchet to the Photon, and the signal is incredibly better.

in places where i had 0-1 bars, i get 4-full bars with the photon.

It depends a lot on the antenna on your phone.

25. remixfa posted on 15 Dec 2011, 22:49 2 2

well, there goes the whole "only the iphone has lines and sells out" BS line we keep hearing.

41. ReturningToNokia posted on 16 Dec 2011, 13:51 1 1

You call that photo of the folks waiting 'a line'? Compared to WebOS, sure it is.

26. Astreo posted on 15 Dec 2011, 22:53 3

so....it seems the droidfans are sheep too. whats your excuse now?

also, i work at radioshack and no they are not fully stocked. we had 10 in our whole district....

42. ReturningToNokia posted on 16 Dec 2011, 13:55 1

The Verizon store I visited had only 8 total, and they were bragging that they were sold out, and that they sold almost twice as many at launch than the Razr - they only got 5 Razr's in their store. Ha!

I would be more impressed if every store got at least 100 units, and sold out on opening day. We certainly won't be hearing on Monday from Samsung or Verizon that they sold millions of devices.

27. RORYREVOLUTION posted on 16 Dec 2011, 02:29 1 1

The display is amazing and overall the phone is pretty damn responsive tho signal strength compared to the RAZR is weak.

28. TKFox007 posted on 16 Dec 2011, 03:04 1 1

I agree with you on that.

34. roldefol posted on 16 Dec 2011, 06:37 1

Signal strength complaints are enough to keep me from trading in my Rezound. I'd love to get in on the ICS action, but it still needs to function well as a phone. I love Samsung's screens, but I don't trust their electronics. I'll wait and see if HTC can follow through on their upgrade plan for S3 phones.

36. icesick06 posted on 16 Dec 2011, 06:48

Haven't had any signal issues yet on mine. Signal strength bars aren't as many as others I looked at but still have not had any problems from my experience.

38. sgogeta4 posted on 16 Dec 2011, 09:54 2

Maybe it's your location? I'm in Manhattan and my GN has awesome reception, better than my OG Droid.

29. TKFox007 posted on 16 Dec 2011, 03:05 2 1

I got a Droid Razr on Monday, thinking I'd be happy with it, but I wasn't, went to a Verizon store today to exchange it for the Galaxy Nexus and couldn't of been happier

30. RORYREVOLUTION posted on 16 Dec 2011, 03:38 1 1

In all honesty i havent had any data issues. Phonearena loads up fast even on 3G but in some places it displays zero bars yet data is still going like normal. Pretty sure its just a bug because i would have noticed it by now.

35. kpfirefighter posted on 16 Dec 2011, 06:46 1

I have noticed that too. I can tell the call quality isn't the same as motorola though. someone posted a while back that they were scared this would be a issue with this phone and he was right. I have dropped a few calls already. I had a droidx and the call quality kicked ass!
I'm hoping that these are just little bugs that need to be fixed.
One more thing ICS is boring!!!!!!! I can't custimize s**t on my phone. I tried to download GOLAUNCHER and I don't think it works with ICS!

I'd just like to point out, that bald head in the picture, THATS ME!!!!!!
