i wonder how long you'll have to keep your basic plan in order to get the free 8GB deal online. a month? 24 hours? seems stupid to only offer the basic.

I thought about getting this phone, but then I realized it will probably just be another cheap iPhone knockoff. I made the mistake to buy a Voyager, thinking that it would be pretty much the same as the iPhone. However, the Dare does have an accelerometer, and a 3' touch-screen. So, I suppose it's a little closer to the iPhone. But why not just upgrade to the real thing? Unless you don't have AT&T coverage in your area I highly recommend just buying the iPhone 3G (the real thing) for the exact same price on July 11.

can the iphone record videos? or record them at 120 fps? and play them back in slo-mo? or a 3.2mp camera? oh and att network? not even comparable to vzw... but i see your point. compared to all the things i have listed, the iphone sounds real nice lol (thats a joke if you didnt know)..... didnt the prada phone come out before the iphone?

Why do all these iPhone fanboys try to push it like it is heroin? Do any of you tools get commission? The iPhone is a great device......but here is the hard truth....if I want an iPhone....I'LL GET ONE. It just so happens, I don't.

I have had mine for one day now, I ordered it on the 24th and received it yesterday.. The phone works pretty well, but the accelerometer needs work as it is very slow detecting movement when turning it on its side, the touchscreen needs to be more responsive as well. Also the biggest annoyance is the sound clarity.. Its not that great when talking on the phone it is all choppy and there is a metallic noise when voice comes through.. The phone also doesnt remember if you turn flash on for pictures and the auto focus isn't very responsive either.. Picture quality was better on the env.. I have iso set to auto though and picture format is on auto, it may change if the setting was to sports since the iso would be higher.. Still all in all its a pretty cool phone, just needs some updates and heck if Wifi was available on the phone it would be a step above the Iphone..

#34, the only good thing about having wi-fi is that it's free (sometimes), you don't really need wi-fi when you have EVDO coverage.

might be a stupid question (could already be answer in the description above), but can you put an .avi movie (or any type of movie of that sort) on your memory card and play it on the phone?

#35, the answer is no, but you can convert your .avi to 3gp or 3gpp2 format and it should work just fine.

The Prada came out before the iPhone so LG would look like they came up with the idea. The iPhone does not have an excellent camera (in fact it is hardly a camera) because Apple is a marketing genius! This year, thousands of people will buy the new iPhone 3G which still only has only a 2.0 MP camera. If you look on all of Apple's tutorials for the phone, not one of them is about the camera (because it does nothing except take pictures). A person who has never seen the back of the phone would not even know it had one (if it wasn't for the camera app on the home-screen) Next year the camera will be one of the most important things on the phone! It will have one of the best qualities possible (5 MP or maybe something better by then) with flash, zoom, color effects, maybe a front camera for video chats, etc. Just wait, Apple did not make many changes to the phone this year. It did absolutely nothing to the camera for a reason. They are taking it one step at a time. This year faster data and GPS, next year the best camera around. I'm not trying to trash talk about all the other touch-screen phones, but the reason they were even made was to compete against the iPhone! Before the iPhone ever became a rumor the only touch-screen phone you could get was a smart-phone. Now look, we have the Viewty, the Venus, the Voyager (my phone), the Diamond, the Vu (which went to AT&T for the reason being: people couldn't afford the original iPhone), you get the idea. The iPhone took 2 and a half years to create while the Dare, like several other phones, only took a few months. I thought they were all the same: a touch-screen phone, so I was perfectly happy with my Voyager. Then I received the chance to use the iPhone's technology, after that moment I realized what my phone was: a cheap knock-off of the iPhone. Then I started looking into a whole slew of touch-screen phones...I was amazed at how many there had become! I was doing research before the iPhone came out and I could find only 5 or 6 now there are at least 20, 30, maybe even 40 in a few months. Bottom line is this: if you are looking for a phone like the iPhone but on a different network, save yourself the trouble, because you're not going to find it.

You assume that we are all suppoessed to beleive everything you are saying just because you are saying it. You obviously have no idea what you are talking about and your opinions are completely biased towards the iPhone. I will agree the iPhone is a COOL device, but there are many things it is lacking. And, FYI, the Dare has been in the works for almost a year. Apple's true stength is their ability to market a mediocre product to the masses and make them think its the best thing since sliced bread... I love Apple products, I'm just sick of everyone comparing EVERY touch screen device to the iPhone. Do you really think that if the iPhone was never created that we still wouldnt have a single touch screen device?!?

I couldn't agree more, touch screen phones have been around for almost 10 years now
