Do you have to have a nationwide plan or whatever to get this phone? cause im on a familyshare plan ithink...

i think you need nationwide for any phone with html browser, so yes . but, the nationwide is the same price as the old plans the only difference is mobile web doesn't use airtime minutes anymore. they charge 1.99 for 1mb of data not sure what that translates to in real world but if you want the phone you have no choice

You don't have to change your plan. I have America Choice Family plan with 4 lines and upgraded one line to Dare. VZ rep told me that I don't have to switch and if I just want access to internet to get Web Mobile 2.0 plan for $5/months. If you want to take advantage of VCast options, make sure to get $15/month VCast Plan that covers wireless web, VCast music, video and games.

you were miss informed. the 5/month plan still gets per minute charges and i believe per kb charges. now the 15/month vcast is unlimited

You are absolutely right. I just called VZW and now they sing a different song...you do have to switch to Nationwide plan and $15/month will buy you unlimited web. It is basically defeats the whole purpose why I bought that phone. I guess I will refuse a shipping and will wait to see what IPhone will look like.

Please I'm begging you to switch to AT&T. First of course, you'll probably have an early termination fee on all four lines, so if you're on a variable etf, we're looking at like $100 per line at minimum, $175 at maximum? Okay so there's $400-$700 to cancel your lines. On top of that, you're going to be paying for four phones with AT&T and a $36 activation fee per line(so $144). So now our total is $544-$844. Now I'll be generous and say that you're a selfish man and you only buy yourself an iPhone at $200, then for your family you get 3 crappy free phones. So not including tax, that brings us up to roughly $744-$1044. Oh we're not done yet, you're going to have a $30 data plan you will NEED to accompany your iPhone. So thats $30/month. Now your phone is going to be a 2 year contract.. $30 x 24 months? Oh wow thats $720!? (versus the $320 for VZW's vcast/unl data for the dare) So wow, lets see now we're looking at $1464 - $1764 !? All the things I just mentioned are a lot better than just changing your plan, I'm sure. Seriously, switch to AT&T, go. Try AT&T they have a 30 day return policy, so we'll see you crawling back here in 2 weeks.

I got the Dare for my son and also activated it on the old america's choice plan. I was just wondering if your phone can download Backup Assistant, or send and recieve photos or videos. His phone can send text messages and recieve them but does not do the other things I mentioned. I am asking this because I'm not sure if there is a problem with the phone or it's because I activated it on an old plan. Being I did the activation myself (I work at for an Authorized Retailer) and tried to bypass using the new Nationwide plan, I don't want to call Customer Care and get the location I work at in trouble for activating it on an old plan. I just want to make sure that it's not a problem with the handset.

My phone will be in Friday :D and my SD card sometime next week (I didn't get it through verizon). Now I'm just trying to decide if I should get a bluetooth headset or not as I don't actually make phone calls all that much.

wtf iv never tried to get a phone the second it comes out but it doesnt make sense that verizon would make it easier for new customers to get the phone before people who they already have contracts on

Actually it makes pretty good sense. They got your money, they want other peoples too.

Does this phone have a virtual qwerty layout or do I have to toggle through the letters like using a typical numeric keypad but without the numbers?
21. (unregistered) posted on 26 Jun 2008, 07:12 0 0
It has a QWERTY and the other two types of input
