u don't even have to replace the back cover if it's loose. You just take a flat head screw driver to the metal piece above the battery compartment. Theres a youtube video explaining how to do it. Did it to mine and now it sits just fine, no need to wait for a vzw fix.

For thr amount of money one pays for this device + service why in theb heck should anyone have to revert to taking a screw driver to or bending pieces of the phone? That's rediculous! A ny other phone and everyone would be screaming "shoddy manufactoring." Not to mention that this little quick fix can void your warranty. This comes first hand from my local VZW store who objects to the modification of this or any other device. Perhaps Droid doesn't do perfection like everyone thinks it does, or wants it too. Took mine back

Well after all, no phone is perfect. Why do you think the iPhone has so many "successors". They keep releasing more updated devices. And the Android software really does a good job. All I have to say, if the battery cover is the only flaw, then there is no worries. That is an easy fix. Having a screen that doesn't work, camera being crap, buttons not working...that would be a real problem complaining about. And I don't see how a battery cover could void your warranty, after all Verizon is offering a free replacement. If you try to fix your original one and break it, just request for the free one. I'm completly happy with my Droid, for the first time in years I've quit browsing the VZW website for the next "new thing".
