There's no way VZW 3g coverage is that good! But it is a nice way to get at ATT, since I think VZW 3g coverage is better, just not that much.

On the contrary! Verizon Coverage IS THAT GOOD. Otherwise, the next step for At&t to take would be to file a lawsuit for false advertising! Similar to the lawsuits against At&t for putting 3G on all their iPhones. Even when that 3G iPhone doesn't get 3G speeds. Consumer Los Angeles, CA: "Hey, Bro! I just bought my new 3G iPhone. It's Awesome!" Consumer Kearney, NE: "I just got my 3rd Generation iPhone..." Consumer LA: "Aren't they the same phone?" Consumer Kearney: "Only during our family reunion... In Los Angeles... I can't wait!"

apparently, there are some people saying that they don't like verizon's service.. so they use t-mo or at&t or sprint for couple of years.. not bad.. problem is verizon's 3g coverage isn't same as 3~4 years.. i'm pretty sure those people never used verizon network, they used other network for couple of years and saying that verizon's network is bad.. ha... ha... ha... good deal... how do you know the taste of a cake if you don't eat it? ha... ha... ha... i used verizon for 5 years now, and for first 2 years, i didn't really use data... for last 3 years, i've used many kinds of smartphones thru vzw, and there's only one thing to say, "Damn!! it's fast.."

Well maybe ATT will do a lawsuit. I see the coverage map and almost the whole east coast is covered?..... Don't think so. It is a great commercial though.

I work for AT&T and I actually really like the company and the service...but even I had to admit that this was pretty hilarious. Touche Verizon...Touche.

The best thing At&t can do to fire back is improve its network, and much time is needed to do so. I think we can all be honest and admit, the iPhone is all At&t has going for it. It will be out of style by the time the government does anything about carrier/handset exclusivity, so we'll see then how they fare. The fact of the matter is the iPhone is killing their network, and many users or "fanboys" don't want to admit it because they'd expose themselves as fools for paying an outrageous amount of money for a device that's mostly all fluff and no stuff. I have fewer problems with my Nextel phone than my friends and co-workers have with At&t, and that's saying something.

The best thing AT&T can do is start building out their LTE network, so that by the time 4g becomes mainstream, they won't have to be like "S***, we gotta improve our network fast" by the time Verizon has a network running.

Well stated. I remember when then Cingular was putting all kind of hype about upgrading to "high speed EDGE", Verizon and Sprint had long since before started their 3G networks. At&t is worried about the now. If they don't start fixing things, they are going to lose tons of subscribers in the near future. They'll be playing catch-up with LTE just as they were with 3G.

problem is that vodaphone, verizon's parent company was part of the conglomerate that made LTE a real tech. ATTs plan isnt to start rolling out LTE till around 2013 while Verizon is rolling out LTE WIDESPREAD this year. They plan to have 100million people covered in LTE by 2011. ATT doesnt have anything to stand on other than the iphone. Their "fastest 3g" crap has been killed by T MOBILE rolling out 21mb/s 3g, so now Tmobile is 3x faster than ATT. Their "best world coverage" is because they have crappy US coverage, and its soley based on their ROAMING partners across the world. Little known fact, there are only 2 more GSM main based countries than CDMA, its not that big of a deal. So, VZW, best coverage... Tmobile, fastest 3g network.. iphone... going to VZW and who knows where else... VZW 3 yrs faster on LTE roll out than ATT. ATT price the same as VZW, but far less service i hope ATT has a suprise in store otherwise they are in real trouble.

Pretty hilarious commercial, although if you live in, and travel inside of, an area that's heavily served by both companies, then you don't really care that VZW has 3G coverage in southwest Oregon (or wherever) but AT&T doesn't!

that is sooo tru i have at&t i have a blackberry bold and the at&t 3G sucks ballz . my sis with verizon has waay better evdo coverage in more places than me. we both have gone to chicago,washington dc, miami,texas,vegas,sacramento,arkansas and i have found out that in all of those places i mentioned above my sis has better evdo 3G connection on her lg dare than i have 3G on my bold. my bold would always be on edge or gsm it was very rare when it would find 3G..... i am very disappointed with gayt&t

im guessing verizon is pissed there not getting the iphone anytime soon especially if there taking a stab at the iphone.
