I said it once and I'll say it again. The Kin devices are the absolute worst phones on the market right now. Basic feature phones do more then this, and I'm so disappointed that VZW even tried pushing these things off on our customers. They either need Windows Phone 7, or they need to be taken off the market. Smartphones are great because of all the things you can do with them. The KINs do nothing, so why do they exist?

i knowww! theyre junk. its only feature is the social networking. i could see if vzw had speacial plan pricing for them seeing that its nowhere near considered a smartphone but they insist on squeezing every penny out of every wallet they can get a hold of... i wouldnt buy those phones if they were free.

I have a feeling these phones will end up on the list with the samsung glyde, verizon hub, touch pro, motorola rival, krzr, lg venus, slvr, blackberry storm, and lg chocolate as the worst phone verizon ever had! What a shame...

storm and chocolate? neither were top notch but far from a bad phone let alone the worst

Yeah, the storm and chocolate were crap phones!

My Storm was nice...but when new phones release of course you go for the new.

your reasoning is a bit flawed here... while alot of these phones werent exactly reliable (thats me being nice), a number were still very popular. the chocolate and venus in particular were always popular, and I belive at least partially that alot of there issues were caused by parents giving them to kids that couldnt properly handle a $30 tracphone, much less a touchscreen device... The hub and the touch pro just didnt sell cuz ( as VZW typicly does) they were priced WAAAAAY too high. Considering how little the kin does, they'd probably have trouble giving them away....

I'm not talking about their popularity or how well they sold. I'm talking about their quality and performance. (and that's me being honest)

lower the plans... then you'll see more customers. the phone price isnt anything to worry about... its the bills that adds up.

Exactly. Idk why verizon cant see this. Who wouldn't just spend an extra $100 buck for a phone that works amazingly over a crappy phone like the kins when they are going to be paying the same amount monthly? Obviously nobody. And you're stuck with this phone for 2 years. That's why the palms aren't selling well either.

They can lower the price on the phone's but thats not whats really going to save us money. You pay for the phone once but you pay for your plan monthy. I would switch from sprint in a heart beat but dont thing verizon will take a chance to pull in thousands of more customers. You can change your companies name change your slogan but in this economy saving people money on a monthly plan would always makes a company look good.

they say the price of the phone is tacked on to the bill because of the subsidization. i say thats crap because even i buy a phone outright for 600 my plan will cost the same per month. i say bring on the tiered data so we dont all suffer at the greed of the data hogs let them pay for what they use not make a buck off of me because i have a life outside of my cell.

That doesn't surprise me, i'm in sales for Verizon and I haven't had a single person ask about them.

Not at all... Customers would rather have a Samsung Intensity than that.
13. oddmanout (Posts: 434; Member since: 22 May 2009)
obviously not if your paying smartphone pricing for a kin...
