Verizon cuts $100 off the Motorola DROID RAZR MAXX and wants you to add Color for Facebook

A few days ago, we showed you an advertisement image saying "Save $100 on a DROID RAZR MAXX" that was taken at a Verizon store, though the promotion had not started yet. It looks like today may be the day, as the main Verizon Wireless web site now has a banner showing the DROID RAZR MAXX for $199 - but also mentions the Color for Facebook app.

It's still madness that verizon can get away with trying to charge 300$ for a handset and then dropping the price a couple months later. I can't feel bad for the early adopters though, it's their fault verizon keeps doing it.

I know it is pretty sad.. but that's how they make $$. Gotta go through a third party supplier like Amazon or Costco..

Nah. Got rid of my FB page and it's been so freeing not reading about my friends stupid post, the mundane check-ins, the bragging, the complaining, the political views, the idiotic "words of wisdom" that they borrow from the internet, the "like this post if you ever turned on a light switch“ type post , "Sara just answered a question about you", Bob just got 3 million points on Words with friends, and pictures of frikn food with “yum" in the comments, and dealing with their stupid privacy policies that they keep changing in favor of you having less privacy unless you keep tweaking it, I couldn't go back. I so don't miss Facebook. Advertise the Galaxy Nexus, sans Facebook crap.

Yep, I actually got one of these food pics with "yum" attached over the weekend. Why is it illegal to take a claw hammer to someone's skull?

Sweet! Had been waiting for the price to drop. No phone currently on the market is worth $300.

This is perfect timing for me. I've been trying to hold off upgrading, been hoping Motorola (Unlike most people on this site, I actually really like Motorola's skin) would release some awesome phone in a smaller form factor, but my time is up. My old phone can't go anymore. Almost bought the Maxx Saturday for $250, wasn't real thrilled about it. For $200 I'm happy with it
