Verizon confirms Samsung Galaxy S7/S7 edge won't get Android Nougat until early 2017

The Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge are supposed to be among the first Samsung smartphones to receive the Android 7.0 Nougat update, and we're hoping that will happen by the end of the year.

The South Korean company has already kicked off the Galaxy Beta Program in the UK, U.S. and a few other countries, where select Galaxy S7/S7 edge owners get to test Android Nougat before the update goes public.

Unfortunately, Verizon's Galaxy S7/S7 edge won't be among the models to receive the update this year if Samsung plans to do that. The carrier confirmed that the Android Nougat update for these two smartphones will be launched early next year.



So, if you're a Verizon customers who got into beta you already know that you won't be getting Android Nougat on your Galaxy S7/S7 edge. If you're not a member of the beta, consider yourself informed about the next major Android update for these two devices, which won't be arriving until 2017.
