Verizon awarded
The largest wireless carrier in the US, Verizon Wireless, has some additional bragging rights after J.D.Power and Associates recognized them for having the “Highest Call Quality Performance Among Wireless Cell Phone Users.” The study was conducted in five regions across the country with over 24,000 wireless phone subscribers taking part in the survey. You might be wondering what they rate in order to evaluate the overall quality of each provider – it's actually quite detailed and range from a variety of experiences. These include dropped calls, interference, distortion, echoes, and no immediate voice mail notification. Big Red will have a solid year before they're put on the spot again to test out who has the best call quality according to J.D. Power and Associates.

Is J.D. Power going to do a "Highest Data Quality Performance Among Wireless Data Users?" I would like to see how it fairs. VZW claims the largest most reliable 3G, AT&T tried to sue them, Sprint says they are best, and T-Mo's gradual 3G unleashing could be a good thing. But to be fair the tests should be nationwide, not just ultra-heavy populated reagions as most large carriers have similar service in metro areas. I want to know truthful facts rather than just heresay from the wireless industry. Executives will always tout they are the best, because their perfomance bonuses are in the millions (even if they have a poor year). I want the honest truth, and not garbage that is regurtitated from ignoranct peons... eeerrr employees from all the wireless companies that believe anything their "Data Rep" said that the regional manager said that he heard the CEO say when his nose was up his butt.

I hope JD power does it, I bet Verizon or sprint will be on top of that one. Especially if they do a rural test or two then it would be Verizon for sure. there was a good comparison in PC mag about a month back I would Google it

I do admit though, I have Verizon prepaid in NYC and they have never failed me, on the LIRR, Metronorth, their calls are always super clear.

I have been with Verizon since they were Airtouch, remember them? I have never been disappointed with the service or the customer service. So it doesn't surprise me they were rated the highest.
