Verizon Wireless starts selling Motorola E815 EV-DO phone

Verizon Wireless, the #2 US carrier has started the sale of Motorola E815 phone - the latest device to support Verizon's 3G EV-DO high speed data. The phone is viewed as an upgrade to the V710, which only features the lower speed 1xRTT data. Additional new features include 1.3 mega pixel camera (from 1.2 on the V710), 40 MB of memory, and newer version of BREW. Verizon has again stripped down the Bluetooth capabilities, so you can not use the phone as a modem to take advantage of the high speed EV-DO connection. Bluetooth can only be used to connect to headsets, or to exchange and synchronize data with a PC.

Motorola E815 features:

  • 176 x 220 TFT display with 262k colors
  • 1.3 mega pixel camera with Flash
  • EV-DO high speed data
  • MP3 player
  • Trans-Flash memory expansion

Curenly, Verizon Wireless sells the phone for $149.99 with 1 year contact.
