Fortunately, BGR is reporting that they've confirmed that the news about Big Red passing off the Pre is 100 percent false...

I GUESS THATS WHY ITS BETTER TO WAIT UNTIL THE CARRIER OR THE MANUFACTURER MAKES A STATEMENT ABOUT WHATEVER NEGOTIATIONS WERE MADE OR GOING TO BE MADE. I PERSONALY DONT THINK THE PRE IS GOING TO VERIZON BUT I DO THINK THAT A MODEL LIKE THE PIXI WILL BE. -OFF THE SUBJECT BUT JONES VS HOPKINS REMATCH 2010 CANT WAIT. THOUGHT I WOULD GIVE YOU SOME WORTHY NEWS..LOL

I mean...I agree and I disagree with reporting it in general. As a former journalist, it bothers me when sites and blogs report on rumor as if it is fact. Folks who read reports based on rumor are going to be grossly misinformed and will spread those rumors like crazy. However, PhoneArena isn't really pushing the content, but instead passing the rumor off itself for people to judge themselves. Thing is though, isn't this why we come to PhoneArena? Phone Scoop will always post official news of items going on in the cellular industry. PhoneArena, however, goes beyond that and delves into the speculative realm of the news. That's why I go to both sites. I've seen where a lot of info that was speculative on PhoneArena went on to Phone Scoop as official word. So yeah...

That's exactly right Jeff, I mean, it's not like PhoneArena is the only site that posts rumors. That's what these sites do, they get traffic by being the first to post a certain rumor or story. You have to learn to just take it at face value, if they say that "a source tells us," chances are it's just a rumor. I like how PhoneArena puts out rumors, because it's interesting to see all the different stories coming out. Don't take it as a truth if there's no evidence that it is, just take it as a rumor. All the major media outlets, ESPN, CNN, Reuters, everyone puts out rumors at one point or another, because that's the pressure of journalism. If you don't get the ratings, you get taken out, haven't you seen Bruce Almighty?
