Verizon Share Everything plans go up to 20GB monthly, top tier priced at $150

It turns out that Verizon does have tiers above the 10GB mark, but they are just not listed on its web site. In fact, the carrier has been offering them since June...

The Share Everything plans actually top out at 30GB for $200. The top tiers and the bottom $40 300mb tier aren't advertised by Verizon but are & have been available.

Actually the 30GB option was thrown out 2 days before the launch of the share everything plans. It is and never was an option in eROES which is the system they use to activate phones, change plans and other things on a customer’s account.

I would throw my kids off the Brooklyn Bridge before subscribing to any of the aforementioned "bend you over good" plans.
Or, I could send them to work like they do in certain Latin American countries, selling "caramelitos" on the corner; then, make them pay for their own data and pocket what's left afterwards.

The problem with "unlimited" is that some (most notably teens) take it as a challenge. A friend's son has been quoting usage by his friends that is clearly for bragging rights in the 15-30 Gb range, either for gaming or media streaming.
There's also that commercial running during the Olympics for AT&T that shows a runner, apparently streaming The Odyssey as audio to his phone. When he finishes that, it says it is streaming Moby d**k. What rot. Download the darn thing.

Grretings...I am looking forward to people getting their first Big Red bill on share everything....
1. People think data is pooled so like if you have 4 devices using data...and each use 0.25 gb data it equals 1 GB for the month so they think they are smart and get the 2 GB data package. ACCORDING to Verizon Rep... 0.000001 GB to 0.999999 gb equals 1 GB so these four units are using 4 GB not 1GB.
2. when people are calculating their costs for the share everything plans...they are not given tax or insurance costs. Make sure you get the WHOLE story.
3. In my home we have 3 Basic phoines and 5 SMART phones. I have unlimited data on smart phones. I have 2 separates accounts because max is 5 lines per account. The share everything plan would put all on the same account. I would loose unlimited data and for that I would end up paying MORE than I pay now after 6GB of data purchased.
4. Aftewr speaking with Verizon Customer Service online and on the phone....the ONLY people that will truely save money are the people that normally have TALK overages.
5. Verizon went from a text/data favorable plan to a text/voice favorable plan.
6. I really do not know what to do/think about Verizon anymore. Everytime I speak with Verizon rep. and I remind them that I have unlimited data package....they remind me that as SOON as I replace a phone with a discount.....that is all over. They are like a gang of cats with a mouse in the corner waiting for it to move. Not a great feeling considering I pay VERIZON $455 a month....

i too have unlimited data but i only average about 700MB a month because i use WIFI most of the time. people freak out about losing "unlimited" but the majority of the time if you look at their usage they average about 1GB. people blame Verizon for this change when you should be blaming those (prior to tiered data) exploiting the unlimited data plans using tethering apps to burn thru data usage. If you were a water company and you caught wind of customers finding ways to use ridiculous volumes of water but paying the same amount as someone who uses moderate amounts...wouldnt you as a company find away to combat that? if you wanted to STAY profitable you would but a consumer mindset doesnt understand that. all consumers are interested in is whats profitable to their pocket books, which is not much different than the greedy viewpoint they accuse businesses of.

It is so funny how the consumerist is never happy. For months and months people have been crying out, "Let me share my data" "We want to get our 10 year old son an iphone but can't afford the data cost" and so carriers respond. Do they respond with a massive savings for ALL customer that would completely make it pennies to do business with them, no. They like us, if we were running a business, need to still show strong financial results and report earnings to the people who invest in them.
I will gladly admit, the share everything plan isn't the best fit for every person, but that is why every person is given three options when they are ready to upgrade. Stick with tiered data, go to share everything, or keep it as it is and buy/provide your own equipment. I think these options are fair.
With the new share everything plan, the only time that you are rounded up to the nearest GB is when you go over. So if your SE plan is 6gb and you use 6.001 gb, then its 7gb and there is an overage charge. The aforementioned data calculation was only used on our tiered data plans.
As far as non-full disclosure, I call BS. I see the screen that tells my customer what they pay now $XX.XX a month (which doesn't include insurance) and what the new pricing would be $XX.XX (which doesn't include insurance) and both of those are communicated.

oh...and I was told by a verizon rep...when checking on ther share everything plan....wow...you can save over $30 on this plan...
I then asked...is that including insurance and taxes?
After the total figure...it is more expensive
Becareful ... very very careful.
Then to SAVE money again.. verizon rep tried to get me to to drop phone insurance....funny when only a short time ago....they wanted you to buy the phone insurance.

I always make sure to quote insurance when I am reviewing a customers' account to change to the share everything plan. I don't see how some reps can leave it out, it's right there in front of you on the computer screen. As far as the benefits of the plan go, if you have smartphones and are not using more than 2GB per line, you could possibly lower the bill every month. If you are on basic phones, probably not. People are moving to smart phone, and the industry needs to change to reflect that, hence the share everything plans and the discontinuation of unlimited. I like the water company analogy above, it's basically the same thing. People just need to pay more attention to their usage, just like you do with water, electricity, gas etc... Don't pay attention to it and let it go, you get charged for it. That's the price for not being responsible.

This is what I don't get... Why does Verizon have to get rid of the unlimited plans at all? They can still offer tiered data and keep the unlimited at the top tier. Would it be crazy expensive? Probably, but I'm sure there are those out there who'd be willing to pay for it just for the peace of mind.
Oh well, can't really expect much out of Big Red nowadays - they don't even offer New Every 2 anymore.

When looking at the numbers on switching a customer over to the Share Everything plan, I have found that the following people save money with the new plan:
* People who have more than 50% smartphones on the plan
* People who currently have a five-line family share and one single line because of the previous five phone max
* People in the lower 90% of data users (under 2GB monthly)
* People on the current unlimited plan
* People with one smartphone and multiple basic phones that have high minutes
* People with the Jetpack 5GB plan who use much less than that
People who DON'T benefit seem to be as follows:
* People who barely talk
* People in the top 5-10% of data users (it would cost my current 4-line 1400 minute talk and text family share at least a $20 increase, as I and the other smartphone on the account both have grandfathered unlimited, and I personally am in the 3-6gb range monthly)
