Verizon Roadmap lists new phones due out for the rest of the year
Tired of waiting around for some new phones from Verizon? We feel your pain, because there are a lot of hot devices due out this Fall. A leaked Verizon Roadmap out this weekend showcases most of the new devices, along with projected release months and prices (no info if this is 2-year contract or full retail). First off is the Samsung Rogue U960, which we've heard a lot about. This is the replacement to the Glyde and the Roadmap shows it to be out in August for $370. Next is the Samsung Intensity U450 and Nokia Twist 7705, both due out in September for $160 and $230 respectfully. In October there is the anticipated LG Chocolate Touch VX8575 for $230, Motorola Sholes (Android based), HTC Razzle (Blitz 2), and BlackBerry Storm 2. Lastly in November the BlackBerry Curve 2. Keep in mind these release months are not set in stone, as there's only a week left in August and still no firm release date for the Rogue.

I look forward to seeing the Blackberry Curve 2.

$370 for the Rogue? That seems kinda steep, even if you're bringing a $100 New Every Two to the table. $200 seems to be the magic price. And for me as an indirect retailer, I have to buy phones from VZW and resell, and I hate getting stuck with selling it at a loss if/when the price drops to $99 or something more reasonable.

This pricing seems to be a little off..... The Envy Touch with a 3.2 MP Camera is 99.99 after rebate. This seems almost unrealistic.... I believe we won't see the phones out till after September 7th due to the promo that is currently going on within Verizon. After that, I think we will see a push of Samsung phones as the Rogue, Intensity, Omnia 2, and the Solstice will be rolling out and will be time to push them. That would make sense. Then I could see the push of Andriod and other PDA devices in October and November with the holiday season rolling around.

THats aLOT of money for the ROGUE!!!

$370 for the Rogue sounds very much like full retail. The Glyde had a mid $300 price tag if I remember correctly. Expect subsidized pricing to hit around the $200 mark. In this economy, with the history of the Glyde, asking folks to shell out more than two bills is unrealistic.

i agree, its got to be full retail in a misprint. not like its an offically released document or anything. id expect it to hit for 149ish after rebate out the door. so vzw gets android this year, att gets the storm2 as well, vzw gets an iphone and pre, sprint gets.. the shaft.., and tmobile gets even more androids and hopefully some 3g blackberrys. now if only they would sneak the 1700mhz radio on the storm 2 so i can unlock it, that would be a happy christmas.

LG Chocolate Touch? Sounds interesting...

24. remixfa posted on 24 Aug 2009, 19:06

chocolate touch is basically the redesigned dare with better speakers.

26. jkeskel posted on 25 Aug 2009, 10:31

Where did you hear that?

7. EraserXIV posted on 23 Aug 2009, 22:49

i'm guessing it's $370 without a 2-year contract. the alias 2 was $320 without a 2-year contract.

8. vnewton09 posted on 23 Aug 2009, 23:05

What happened to the other phones that was suppose 2 come out like the O2!?!

9. scroffy posted on 23 Aug 2009, 23:28

you guys will believe anything. the chocolate touch CAN'T be coming out in October! It came out TODAY, I read it on phone arena just a minute ago! Today was big, the Omnia 2 came out today, that's what it says on phonearena! And how did they know this? just like this "story", from some faked screenshot reported on bgr! it must be true, i read it on ALL the phone rumor sites! so much seems wrong in this thing....the prices seem very off. The rogue is NOT the replacement for the Alias 2, it's the replacement for last year's stinky glyde. the alias 2 was only released 3 months ago! where are the other phones likely to appear in this timeframe? tp2? omnia 2? tdiamond 2? bogus!

10. JC_Agga posted on 24 Aug 2009, 00:14

@Scroffy, what are you talking about? so is that mean you went to the Bestbuy? I wish i am wrong because i can't find any Omnia 2 and Chocolate Touch on Verizon and bestbuy websites. Please correct me. I wish i am wrong.

11. secondcor517 posted on 24 Aug 2009, 00:51

sarcasm....

12. JC_Agga posted on 24 Aug 2009, 01:04

No way....

13. skylox posted on 24 Aug 2009, 06:01

this list is for Sam's Club, that is why there is no mention of Omnia 2 or Touch Pro 2, and also why the Rogue is the replacement for the Alias 2

15. willieg3 posted on 24 Aug 2009, 08:15

Sam's Club doesn't sell Verizon. Only Sprint, At&t, and T-Mobile.

16. scroffy posted on 24 Aug 2009, 08:58

and how do you KNOW it's for sams club? because you read it in a comment to the story on bgr! wow, the sources get better by the minute!!!

25. skylox posted on 25 Aug 2009, 06:00

i know this because i work for vzw and I was the one to post on bgr
