If the droid razr is 199.99 then they charge 49.99 extra for the cheap plastic keyboard?

Costing more than the RAZR and Bionic---I don't think so---wait a month--it will be $149.00 or 1 cent on Amazon....

remember this is the launch price. even if the Razr is $200 now it had it's time in the sun at $300, $250 for essentially the same thing but with better pixel denisity, a superb keyboard and a removable battery is fair enough for a new phone and just like the Razr it will get that dunk in price later on.

Does the map period mean the time it will stay at that price? Or that is the time they will run that price and depending on how it sells if it be reviewed for adjusted pricing at that time?

MAP means minimum advertised price (MAP) kind of like MSRP----manufacturers suggested retail price---so no it want stay that price forever...Walmart and Amazon cell phone departments offer lower prices over the MAP all the time.....

Thanks for the info. I always wondered about that.

I guess this map is just an estimate? Verizon's website still has the original Droid Razr at 299 and I went to the store to inquire yesterday (Jan 10) and it was still 299. They claimed to know nothing about an upcoming price drop or purple Razr and said they usually hear about those sort of things about a week in advance.... Anyways anyone know when the price drop will be for sure? Thanks.

Verizon is always on the pricey side, even their plans cost a little more. I think 250 - 300 dollars is a lot of money for any device on a two year contract. You get the best, most improving network, but you sure pay for it.

Complaints about, why does this not surprise me? Same thing every time, and funny thing is we all know the price of the phone will drop in a few months as there are always new phones coming out, but people will complain about that too because well that is just their schtick. $249 isn't much especially considering that the Razr is 299, and it's already a month older than this phone which has yet to go on sale. Gotta love impudent folk yes?

Or, considering AT&T only has the iPhone and the Skyrocket above 200, Sprint has only the iPhone and the Epic 2S, and I do not think T-Mobile has 1 over 200, we just think that is a lot higher than Verizons competitors would charge for it. Just because Big Red charges 250- 300 dollars and you are okay with it, maybe the majority of posters here realize how much Verizon is overpricing these devices. Now, like has been said, you get the best network and Verizon keeps investing so you can reason out paying a little more, but don't act like you do not whine at prices in your life.

How dare we want to keep more money to ourselves. Impudent losers, we are.

The viewing angles on the screen are still… terrible.
