Still trying to figure whats so significant with the release of the Incredible when its so closely similar to the Rezound...the Rezound was released costing 299

it's Substantially more powerful, it's smaller for the market that still wants smaller handsets and it'll run Sense 4.0 vs. Sense 3.6 which the Rezound is getting with it's ICS update.

King pretty much nailed it. Anything Verizon, he knows.

Did you see the display size -- it is long and narrow. HTC has some of the smallest screens in the market if you ask me.

Some of the smallest screens in the market? The One X has a 4.7 inch screen. That's the third largest screen on any phone if I'm not mistaken. Beneath the Galaxy Note's 5.3 inch and the GS3's 4.8 inch.

Not to mention that it should have better battery life than the Rezound. I've always liked the Incredible line and after my discount and rebate the phone, for me, would come out to $120 (after initial taxes). Yay

that's true. that die shrunk Krait should go a long way towards improving that battery life.

Not just Krait, but also the smaller and more efficient screen. I'm hoping HTC packs in a decent or large capacity battery in there.

The new Sense UI looks great as it finally got rid of that limited dock forcing me to put more icons or widgets on the home screen. I hope it's customizable as Motorola's new Blur.

true again. i believe the battery is removable too which is a big plus vs. it's One cousins.

yeah, it's definitely a big improvement over previous iterations. you'll also have the option of using Nova Launcher since this is ICS. i even use it with ICS on my Razr.

it is not a big upgrade its actually a major downgrade. the screen is year one tech while rezound is year 1.5 tech. it should have well over 300 ppi for even a smaller screen and should have included lcd2 tech either by sony or another firm. if the phone comes with an internal battery of no less than 1800mah it will be an utter disaster. in fact i am positive even if it was 49.99 or free right now it would have any significant support on xda or another, makes it pointless to get unless your simply content on stock form and no customization

the way htc markets its phones its just a matter of when they will be bought out by another company. seriously what the heck were they thinking with this phone?

what are you talking about? the ppi won't affect the battery life because it's only qHD resolution being pushed. the screen being a smaller size doesn't really mean anything.

believe it or not some people can live without third party support and besides the Incredible series was pretty popular in the modding community and i'm sure some developers are still dedicated to the series.

they made a mistake by not merely making this a redesigned One S but there's a few good things that have come out of this like the removable battery and the smaller size for instance. pretty much everything that really mattered made the jump to the new Incredible so i think it's still pretty solid especially at $150.

Yes the ppi wont effect the battery life much. HTC made it with yesterdays LCD tech on the new incredible, yet the one series came with two Gen screen and that does not make sense
I am positive this phone will fail especially when the sg3 comes out near the same time with the bootloader unlockable and source code released and 199 price. Its a done deal, i know a ton of older folks who prefer smaller phones yet will spend a little more for a true premium phone the sg3 or one series over the incredible.

you know in the best case scenario for something like this it would be equipped with an AMOLED display like the One S and not an SLCD2 display like the One X or the EVO 4G LTE. this isn't really meant to be a high-end device for Verizon as even the pricing here suggests. a lot of phones will fail next to the SIII there's no avoiding that even if another high-end phone like the One X for instance was involved however for the market that this is for it'll do just fine. my sister is getting one herself to replace her Droid Incredible 2 as it has served her well but she's ready to catch up so to say.

your right when you say its not high end but everything linked to the phone regards it as high end.

I've had this phone in my hands, and there are some really cool features to it that I really like, and it just feels good in my hands. Believe it or not, some people like the idea of a 4" screen rather than something bigger.

The Incredible 4G is exceptionally smooth, the camera is awesome, and the price is great.

The SGSIII is undoubtedly a beast, but a phone like the Incredible 4G has its place. Where I work, I hear soooooo many people wanting "free phones" or lowest price they can get, and there will probably be many that will go for the $50 lower price, and still get a great phone.

If the $50 or $100 is no big deal, the SGSIII is without a doubt the way to go. If it is a big deal, the DINC4G will still be a great quality device, IMO.

Verizon actually priced a super high end phone reasonably? I thought I'd never see this day.

Trust me when I tell you, it wasn't from the kindness of their heart. Verizon had no choice, Sprint, AT&T, and Tmobile releasing the same device, not an exclusive device.

All four carriers are going to be out of stock in less than two days. Idk about U.S. Cellular.

It's not that he knows everything, it's the fact that when you live at home with mom and dad in the basement, and you don't have s**t to do, eating cheese doodles all day, reading comic books, and reading up about cell phones and has probably never seen a woman in his life, you get to be a master of one topic that makes life interesting for you.

Yes, because you obviously know every aspect of this person's life, or perhaps the reason why you are so capable of intimately describing it is because you know this life all too well?

It takes one to know one.

wrong again guy. i'm actually the go-to guy about phones and such in my social circles. i research them because it's incredibly useful information and comes in handy a freaking LOT. i helped three people get phones in the last two months alone and not because it's my job which it really should be but because i just do the research. now if you think you have any right to judge me personally based on my activity here on Phone Arena then think about the judgement i could pass off on you. you're just a flaming troll with nothing useful to contribute and maybe you've heard the phrase "how would you know i was staring at you unless you were staring right back?" or something like that, yeah, that would seem to apply here if your claims about me had any merit so you might want to think about that before you say anything else like that to anyone. :P

you people run after every increment when a phone is upgraded and thinks its the best thing ever invented. ..if you are going to be locked in a two year contract, the phone better have more than Sense 4.0, substantially more powerful (as King put it), I don't think so, the Rezound is 1.5 ghz..how substantially are you talking...how much power do you need to run Temple Run and do your facebook updates.

The 1.2ghz S4 chip does clock faster than the 1.5ghz S3 that powers the Rezound. I have a Rezound and love it. Would I like to have the Incredible 4G? Sure would! Is it worth forking over retail for it? No way.

One of the biggest features for this phone will be the Beats anywhere software. If its audio coming from this phone, whether it's native on the device or streaming from Netflix or Pandora, Beats will enhance the audio. There is also a dongle for it that plugs into your HDMI port on your HDTV that will allow you to wirelessly share HD video at top quality from this phone.

Knock it if you want, but there are some really cool features on this phone, and some of the specs are still attractive to many people, and the $50 to $100 cheaper price point does make a difference to some people as compared to the SGSIII. The economy still sucks in many places....

the clock frequency means little to nothing when comparing two processors as entirely different as the S3 and S4, it's like night to day these two.
