Verizon HTC One finally gets official signup page

0. phoneArena 13 Aug 2013, 13:19 posted on

It may not have any actual information just yet, but an official signup page is a great sign for those of you waiting on the Verizon HTC One. Not only does it indicate that there is real official information coming soon, but it means you don't have to worry so much about all of the rumors, which have been basically zero help on the topic so far...

This is a discussion for a news. To read the whole news, click here

They can afford to be cautious with that low low churn rate. I for one am willing to wait for the next month or so worth of devices. Sure, I envy the lineup over at AT&T, but I don't want their network.

I have been burned by vzw before; both with release delays and cancellations.

If you have an early upgrade available, you do not have long to utilize it before it expires. Prior to waiting for other devices, I would advise checking when your upgrade evaporates.

Vzw treats their customers like hammered dog doo. They lucky their network is best.

Network won't matter for much longer, one day all the US carriers will have 99.9% of people covered in the US and instead of competing with network coverage and speed they will have to start competing with prices and phone selections.

Maybe, but you're still talking years down the road. And I'm sure Verizon isn't planning on resting on its laurels. Now that the LTE rollout is complete, they'll move on to AWS and then LTE-Advanced. They're going to want to stay a step ahead with their network, because network strength and popularity are all it's got.

Remember when we were all excited about the super new, super fast Droid Incredible? And then it got delayed and delayed because Samsung was hoarding AMOLED production? And by the time the phone finally shipped, we were all excited about the super new, super awesome Droid X instead?

Yeah, I got one before the amoled shortage happened. A friend of mine wanted one but they were backordered by the time he could upgrade. I remember how awesome it was at the time, all the things it could do. Those were the great days of the mobile industry. But things are always better in the start, everything is so groundbreaking. Now it seems all their is is minor advancements and lawsuits. I admit it's starting to wear on me.

It will see the 4.2.2 update in 2014 knowing Verizon. At least they're finally giving users the phone after months of waiting.

There's really no reason to buy this phone now, as it came out 6 months ago. New phones with more powerful processors, GPUs, better displays and battery life are on the way.

HTC will pull their BS soon and release a new phone. After HTC releases a dev phone dev support for the HTC One will go dead. I highly doubt the non Google Edition of the HTC One will ever get updated past 4.2.2

Usually when a dev phone is released it makes it easier to port roms to the carrier branded phones. Plus flagships get updates for at least a year, so I'd imagine it'd make it to at least 4.3.

So, if you're on Verizon, you're saying "wait" for the new ones, there's no reason to buy this phone now, new ones are on the way? That's funny. ALL the new ones will be out much later, as always on Verizon. The hTc One will be the best phone AVAILABLE on Verizon for who knows how long.

I don't think any had branding on the front, all HTC ones had it on the back so no news there

Yeah, but this is Verizon. So it's a good sign that HTC has joined the ranks of Samsung and Motorola with clean faces and minimum branding. The VZW LG G2 wasn't so lucky.

If you're meaning all HTC One phones had no front branding, yes. But any HTC phones on Verizon had front branding. The only one that was any different was the Rezound which had Verizon AND HTC branding.

I'm guessing that they wanted to burn through their stock of Droid DNAs before they brought in another flagship model. On Verizon, HTC has a specific plan. One flagship & one lower device. The only time that wasn't the case was when they offered the Rhyme along with the Thunderbolt and Incredible 2.

iPhone 5s and the note 3, yeah because those are the phones that threaten HTC one, not. Try Lg G2 now that's a phone worth waiting for. Also, stop the whining about how they waited so long who cares. Still one Of the top phones in 2013. Note 3 isn't a phone stop bringing it up. iOS 7 is ugly and the iPhone never has any dramatic changes. I for one am happy they are finally taking their heads out of their asses and getting better phones. They already have the best coverage, now they get some kick ass phones! By kick ass phones I mean the HTC one and LG G2 hahahaha

Agreed Verizon is always late, but the HTC One is still relevant and a top 2013 phone. Each of these devices appeal to people for different needs and reasons. I'm excited to see the One after selling an Iphone 5 for an S4 and its decent but not phenomenal. I also think that while IOS has needed an overhaul, 10 year old icon colors is hardly the answer. If they don't upgrade the screen size next time they will be in deep crap.
