I thought 2.0 and 2.1 were both Eclair, just as 3.0-3.2 are all Honeycomb.

As always, it may be names of sweets, but you gotta keep on the alphabet. If we didn't know the next Android version is Jelly Bean, I would have voted for Jalousie. And, of course, my vote still goes for Key Lime pie after that.

Let's see... Key Lime Pie, Lollipop (cuz licorice sucks), Millefeuille, Nougat, Oatmeal Raisin Cookie, Pistachio Pudding, Quince Tarte, Red Velvet Cake, Snickerdoodle (or Saltwater Taffy), Tiramisu, Upside-down Pineapple Cake, Vanilla (keep it simple, and kill all manufacturer UIs!), White Chocolate Mousse, X... (I got nothing), Yellow cake?, Zebra mussels?
Wow, the end of the alphabet gets really difficult. People are going to have to invent new desserts for X, Y and Z before 2025, 2026, and 2027 respectively.

Sushi Melt or Fried Ice Cream would be my top two picks.

Next up is probably Jellybean. But this is still gonna be ICS. I think from here on they're gonna make their updates more like Blackberry/Apple where the new versions are x.0 and the updates are X.1, X.2 etc.

"As always, we know you are all angry with Verizon over the handling of this release, but we would strongly urge you to not vent into our comment thread."
Sorry.. but while I do enjoy this site, I believe that PA does bear some responsibility here for all the angst towards Verizon.
It's these rumormill sites that bombard us with unsubstantiated rumor, sometimes very close to facts..and whip us up into a frenzy! Then.. you say.. don't vent here.. blame verizon!
Really.. Verizon has NEVER said when the phone would be released, so while it's frustrating, that's the deal.

ahhh. the joys and despairs of the rumor mill.
19. MichaelHeller (Posts: 2693; Member since: 26 May 2011)
If you don't want to read never-ending rumors, then don't read those articles. We have plenty of other content. We have a responsibility to report the news, and like it or not, the Galaxy Nexus is news, just like the iPhone 4S was, and the way things work in tech is that there are a lot of rumors. If you don't want rumors, don't read those articles. I'll even lobby for a rumor tag on our pieces to help you guys out.
The problem is that people will pop up on every story about the Galaxy Nexus, even if it has nothing to do with a rumor about the Verizon release, and start screaming about how angry they are. It's completely unnecessary and misguided. I've said many times, if all of the people around the net would send their complaints to Verizon rather than random tech forums and comment threads, we might actually see some change.

google announced that the phone would launch in november.
several verizon documents have had dates or information that points directly to dates.
i think its awesome that PA has covered this. i think they have done a wonderful job of presenting each piece of info in the light that they have discovered it. i have never fealt misled by the way PA has handled anything, only by the content that they have relayed.
22. roldefol (Posts: 3683; Member since: 28 Jan 2011)
And even that I can't complain about. Google said the phone would arrive in November, and it did, just not in the US. Verizon only said it would arrive by the end of the year, so they have all month to keep their word. You could argue that it was a botched launch because there was such a lag between announcing and releasing the phone, but since they never gave an _official_ date, they never misled anyone.

Yes, because no other new OS from any other company has bugs. Riiiiiight...
