Verizon Escapade to be launched Friday as expected
About a week ago, we reported about a global handset from Pantech that was expected to launch on August 21st. The clamshell phone is now officially set for release tomorrow. Called the Verizon Escapade, the handset will come without Ev-Do, UMTS or EDGE. Before you start looking for the string, the Escapade will offer voice and text services to 220 destinations across the globe. A Vodafone SIM card is included in the box.  The phone is equipped with a 2MP camera, VZ Navigator support, and will follow voice commands. And the device won't put much of a dent in your wallet as it carries a price tage of $29.99 after rebate and your signature on a two-year contract.
