Verizon BlackBerry Curve 8530 to be called simply as the Curve 2?

With so many versions of the Curve name being thrown around, there was also some speculation as to what Verizon will ultimately brand this unit...

I don't want this one... I want the 8930. Where is that one? Will it come out for Verizon, and I thought the 8930 was the Curve 2.

Your point is easy to understand. The reason you thought the 8900 series was the curve 2 is because it was released before the 8500 series, but looking @ them spec wise we see that the 8500 is the joint phone between the 8300 & 8900 series. The only thing that makes it actually feel newer would be the trackpad.

Umm Phone Arena. The Storm 2 is not going to be called the Storm 2. Internally at VZW its called Storm 2, however the branding of the product is actually Storm 9550. No 2 in this one.

I find that very funny... If you go onto blackberry's website they are clearly calling it the STORM2 9550... along with verizon and all other companies selling verizon wireless service (i.e. best buy, go wireless and many more)... Just an FYI so you don't make the same mistake again there buddy.

OK buddy, I've seen the Accessories in store. The high gloss silicone covers for instance. They are all marked "Storm 9550" No 2 involved... so whatever you say Buddy.

Well then you are just an idiot... go to BLACKBERRY'S website it it CLEARLY named STORM2... i don't care what the accessory packages say... i am going based off of what the MANUFACTURE (RESEARCH IN MOTION) HAS NAMED THE PHONE NOT WHAT SOME AFTERMARKET COMPANY IS CALLING IT ON THERE ACCESSORY PACKAGE!!! Do your research in the future if you feel your input is important... which in this case is not because you are without a doubt 100% wrong... it's ok though mistakes happen.

The Curve 2 is the 8900, spec wise it makes complete sense! Since the 8330 has GPS and the 8520/8530 don't. The 8530 is just a budget version of the 8900. You can call it Curve 1.5 :P

P.S Shame on Verizon! With the failure of the Tour you would imagine they would pick up a device as sleek and successful as the 8900 which has proven T-mobile lots of sales.

You're completely correct. Shame on Verizon Wireless for not using the 8900 series which runs exclusively on GSM, why the hell shoud Verizon come out with a phone that will work on their network?

I have the tour and have NEVER had an issue. FYI videobandit you are funny.
