BooHoo... I only get a $480.00 phone for free rather than a $550.00 phone... cry me a river. Free is free people, all you have to do is sell your soul for 24 months, so if you are someone who has to upgrade every 8 months I wouldn/t do this. If you are content with a solid top of the line phone and wouldn't mind waiting until the 3rd generation later, DO IT! I personally don't see why people have to always buy the slightly better version, why not just wait and buy the way better version later? I still have my 6900/Vogue/Touch and I don't see anything worth upgrading to WinMo-wise until the HD2. Sure I could have bought the diamond or the imagio, but why? They are not that much better, just a little better when you look at the big picture. 400mHz/528mHz, 128/192/288. I prefer to leap from 400-1028 and 128-488. That seems like a much better device if you ask me and I will appreciate it more and continue to hack it for years to come. :D

Yes I was stating that I think this is a good deal and a 2 year contract isn't a bad thing. I was using my personal experience to try and show why 2years with the same phone isn't a bad thing. My brother upgrades every time a new model comes out and he is trading for a slightly better phone each time. So upgrade away if you want android and wait for the Droid 3 or the Eris 3 as the Droid 2 and Eris 2 won't really offer that much better of an experience... Look at the storm 1 and storm 2.

I wouldn't use the Storms as examples. They have MAJOR improvements, not some sissy upgrades to the operating system like the iPhone! BB Storm2 is LEGIT.

I agree with the concept, but storm 1 to storm 2 is a bad example. That said I'm the guy that upgrades every 9 months. Sometimes more often then that, there is always some feature I've been waiting for. I'm holding out right now for the new Tour 2 / Bold 2 / Essex (whatever you want to call it).
