VLC player gearing up for Android launch
VLC is probably the most omnivorous media codec eater you can find where it’s available, and that’s why we’re eagerly waiting for the video player to arrive on Android. We know it’s been in the development stage for a while, and good news is now that it’s very, very close to release.

The VideoLAN official twitter account posted the teaser earlier today: “Android, here we come!”

The official Android page on the VLC website confirms what we already know - that the app is in development, and asks us to “come later for more information.” We don’t know any more specifics, but obviously VLC should land on Google Play in the near future. What we do know, is that as soon as we learn more, we’ll let you know, so stay tuned.

I don't care if I have to pay $10 for this. If it runs all my .mkv and .avi files smoothly I'll be satisfied.

(Using Rockplayer Lite)
