Nokia and AT&T are rolling out the update to Windows Phone Tango for the flagship Nokia Lumia 900 which you should see when you hook up the handset with Zune Desktop; the update brings some new features including "flip to silence"...

A lot of the "SMBWP" were about quick access to frequently used programs or functions that WP does with fewer steps than Android. Even with JB those functions still take some time and multiple clicks unless the user has created a shortcut (and those can take time to perform, even as fast as JB is). The best way for an Android to win or come close in that campaign is to have a quick phone (with JB, now that it's out) that has a dedicated camera button, and having the user already signed in to their social networks

I.e. the odds were artificially stacked in WP's favor. Nice marketing gimik, but ultimately I configure my phone to quickly do what I want it to do, not to pass some farcical contest challenge.

Oh absolutely, but for those that don't bother to properly configure their device, it might present an argument for why something that's preset to be easier to use might be a compelling purchase. Those are the typically the same sort of people who go cell phone shopping asking for an iphone when they mean smartphone.

PA please make a review for the Tango update cause I wanna know if I should sell my lumia 900 to get money to buy Nokia windows 8 device or just update my 900.(I just want the new lockscreen and the customizable tiles but I'm bit interested with windows 8 other features). thanks

You're thinking of Windows Phone 7.8, not Tango. Tango is a maintenance and performance update. 7.8 is an added-features update, which will probably be out in the next 2-3 months

I don't understand why Nokia has planned to abandon its own OS.
Nokia OS is years ahead of WP 7.5
It should have instead invest more on attracting apps developers or at least inspire from Apple's success.
Apple is similar to Nokia,but with a better management.
Android is the KING though.Thxs Google for caring for our freedom.

I'm an apple fan but am loving what I hear about WP8. I may very well leave the Apple fold this fall and get a new Nokia WP8 phone.

OK...we have Tango. Nothing really amazing but hopefully they have coded some of the lines for the upgrade to 7.8. I really am looking forward to 3 tiles sizes and a real estate filled front screen.
As soon as someone calls me I'll flip to mute them (an old old old HTC feature) and make sure it works.
