i think the commerical you saw was the one for iron man and if so only one of those phones is verizon but i could be wrong cause is a commerical that lg is doing

134. (unregistered) posted on 22 Apr 2008, 10:11

YES.... thats the one, i didnt get to see it close enough cuz i wasn't really paying attention but there seemed to be 3 handsets and i think all had verizon logos and they all also seemed to be some sort of touch screen phones and the one on the right looked to be the LG Dare (VX9700) i have been trying to find the commercial all day but cant seem to... can someone please get a hold on that video so we can confirm if verizon has quietly started to promote the phone?

135. Antonio (unregistered) posted on 22 Apr 2008, 13:25

no they have not. the 3 phones in the commercial are not all verizon. its an LG commercial. The 3 phones are the LG Voyager (VZW), the US Shine (AT&T) and the Glimmer (Alltel). These are LG's biggest phones right now in the states. The 9700 is not in there, but you should start seeing more thinga baout it closer to Q3. I know it sucks and everyone says this, but just be patient. It will get here. Just not as quickly as we first thought.

Well as with anything the more hype the less REAL product. Lets reference the original 8500 Chocolate, it was junk and fell apart. And most lemmings bought it cause it was COOL!

137. KrystLe (unregistered) posted on 23 Apr 2008, 01:58

I must say i might just have to buy this one. I was going to get a bb only because the prada phone was gsm and needed a sim card and i could'nt get it flashed to verizon. But also like #3 said....... It might be kind of late, they should have made the prada avail. now they make this? Wow. I DARE myself to buy it. right?

A big chunk of people don't use phones for work related uses, and WIFI is a great tool especially as it is growing in each area. Some people just can't throw $30 bucks away to check their personal emails and movie times. Wifi is the big thing on this. DrF says insider will be looking into this and posting it onwww.lgdare.blogspot.com soon.

139. (unregistered) posted on 25 Apr 2008, 23:18

i just saw the ironman lg commercial and the last phone is the lg vu(the at&t version of the dare and the only one of the two to have been officially announced) its on the website too insidethesuit.com

is the dare going to have wifi?

141. The Zune Lune posted on 30 Apr 2008, 07:58

I will be very surprised if any non-smartphone, including the Dare has WiFi. Including WiFi would actually limit Verizon's ability to continue to generate revenue. EVDO and the subscription services they provide are part of Verizon's bread and butter. Unless WiMax (which suffered a set-back with cable companies last week) becomes a real player, don't expect WiFi in most Verizon handsets any time soon.

Why is everyone saying this phone is going to come out when its not? Who even came up with the "Dare" its not Verizon that is calling it the "Dare". And if this phone is coming out why is it that only phonearena has a pic and no one else? Why dont you people who think its going to come out go into a Verizon store and talk to a manager, just because the FCC approves it doesnt mean that Verizon is going to approve it, they have their own test that they run on phones before they get approved.

145. (unregistered) posted on 12 May 2008, 01:45

people who work for verizon (not people who work in the stores) or deal with them have already stated it's coming out for verizon and have been credible in the past. you should know what your talking about before you start talking, most verizon managers have no idea about the new phones that come out, if you talk to them they tell you they probably know a month's in advance when a new phone is coming out people who visit this website frequently know more about upcoming phones then verizon employees who work in the store

So what do you have to say now that Verizon Wireless has released the "Dare"?

146. nippy1 posted on 12 May 2008, 20:21

It really amazes me how many people think that they know everything...... The Voyager before it came out no one knew about it, but here it is, even if you walk in to a Verizon store the Manger surly doesn't know it's coming out till there is an actual launch date. I good friends with an owner of 11 indirect stores they go to mgts at least 1 time every 3 months and learn about new phones that are coming out, and even then there not 100 % sure until the launch date, that's because they are always's testing the phones, even when they are launched there are still bugs, that because they test in cretin markets. There's a 80%certinty that this phone will be out July 4th, I love the voyager got it the day it came out and had to get a 2nd one. Since then I've had no issues with it at all, I'm just board with it. Hope LG VX9700 comes out soon

I've been with Verizon for a while now and it's great so far but yeah as everyone has said over and over the phones aren't great. Verizon had a great oppurtunity and they turned it down. Apple first went to Verizon with the IPhone, but verizon made a mistake and turned them down. With LG coming out with a lot of IPhone like phones they are getting closer and closer. With every mistake and flaw they are improving upcoming phones. And I hope this phone will be the one.

148. The Zune Lune posted on 17 May 2008, 11:36

Verizon made a brilliant move and clearly demonstrated its confidence in its network superiority by turning down the iPhone and all of the demands Apple made with the offer. The iPhone is junk - ask the countless people who have had their iPhones catch fire in a bag or a purse because the battery is way too hot. Besides, to be honest, the iPhone does not really do anything that Verizon's existing Windows Mobile PDS don't already do. Too many people drank the Kool Aid Additionally, LG demonstrates the best call quality of any phone manufacturer over and over, and isn't that really what a cell phone should have going for it first and foremost?

157. (unregistered) posted on 21 May 2008, 08:48

You summed it up very well.

150. (unregistered) posted on 19 May 2008, 03:09

Verizon needs to come up with a different plans, Im paying 39.99 for 450 min, and 20.00 for unlimited text, and NO internet, and ATT starts 39.99 for 450 min and 20 for unlimited data, both the same price, might as well pay 59.99 and able to go on the internet.

156. (unregistered) posted on 21 May 2008, 08:47

Go right ahead and get all the "goodies" with AT&T....but don't complain when the network isn't reliable!

161. (unregistered) posted on 28 May 2008, 22:58

Ha Ha Ha!!! at&t network is more reliable then verizon.
