Of course this phone is for Verizon Wireless There're many pix leaked all over google not to mention the pix on this site clearly showing the Get It Now symbol on the main menu. Big bummer though I was hoping for Windows Mobile 6.0

Verizon will be running LTE in late April or beginning of May. It will allow any phone to work with its network. This includes iphone hopefully. This is smart considering its not "breaking" the contract between the iphone and att. Verizon is just allowing it to work for thier network.

the iPhone is based on GSM whereas Verizon uses CDMA. If Apple really wanted to, they could replace the GSM radio with the CDMA version. I wish this would happen but I kinda doubt it.

lte technology does come from a gsm based tech but the initial stuff used by VZW will straight CDMA compatible at first then seein as LTE is decedent from GSM they gonna make it reverse compatible with GSM soo yea, by the time it happens the iphone will be a paper weight.. like it shld be now.. plus remember ppl VZW will not release a phone if they don't think they can fully guarantee it, and for those of you that can't understand what im sayin is that if the phone is not good enough @ first the manufacture gotta step they game up.. and by the way the whole reverse compatible thing is theory still, no guarantee.. but yea VERIZON WIRELESS is the best, no doubt about it

When I was working for Verizon they specifically said that the Iphone would not be allowed on Verizon's network. And second LTe is the data network, so it is possible that the iphone's data services could work but the voice network will not run the iphone ever!!!!! Unless the iphone is changed to CDMA

Modders get working, i know you can cram a little ass cdma radio into an iphone, make it work and you'll be richer that stevie boy himself...well maybe not but we'll all love you.

What a baseless remark. The amazing part to me is that the iPhone does nothing, and probably does less than my Treo 700w, and and probably less and on a completely inferior data and phone network. I love LG phones and expect the vx9700 to be a whizz-bang product with exceptional call quality.

well to be honest with you, I think verizon should just make the swithc to a gsm based network only put more money into it to make it better than at&t and tmobile. Ive done some research on gsm phones, and they kill anything that verizon has or ever will in my opinion. Just look at companies like sony ericsson. They have phones that do it all and do it extremely well. It'd be nice to see verizon come out with a phone that had a camera with 5 or more megapixels, a real music service that comes with such a high priced phone, cheaper service, and amazing easy to use features

In some way i have to agree with you. You see i'm pretty sure i think i was china but they just picked their mobile tv standard. I forget which it was but it was def not verizons MediaFLO. Verizon now talks about how the network is going to be open. Well if no other countries are gonna make electronics with our US technology in them, they will be useless anyways. The whole world needs a standard. That's the way i look at it.

Verizon has been innovative with phones. They were one of the first to offer touch screen phones that are not PDA's (IPHONE). Verizon has the Voyager and the Venus. Verizon also came our with the EnV whch was a one of kind with full key board that flips and does not slide. Any one remember the LG-VX9400? That is still a one of a kind designe. I will say that when it comes to PDA's that verizon is always far behind, but not with regular phones. AT&T rules the PDA game but has a bunch regular phones that all look just alike. They are all sliders phones with same features and sprint just sucks. The 9700 is a parada like phone but not the same phone, pay attention to detail people. people also have to remember that most phones are introduced in GSM technology so verizon has to waite till a compnay decides to produce a CDMA version. It is not always VZW's fault.

ok i have used the lg prada and the phone thats coming to verizon the LG VX 9700 is way better than the actual prada. and i generally know what comes out even before the ppl that work for the verizon stores even know. im not a know it all but i have done my home work. the picture presented is the actual verizon model that will be used in the stores. and also how the VX9700 is better is that it has a 3 mega pixel camera and the actual PRADA only has a 2 mega pixel. it will most likely be media FLO since it is most likely going to be more expensive then the voyager due to it being compact. and it also has a full qwerty touch key board on the tough screen which the prada doesent have. fase it ppl we are getting the upgrade and boy do we VZW users diserve it.

Dom, MediaFLO is not VZW's network. It is operated by Qualcomm the company that invented CDMA, and most Integraded Voice Response (IVR) systems. AT&T also suses MediaFLO now. Verizon uses MediaFLO b/c it is a truer TV experience, whereas other comanys uses their own data network to stream TV to your phone. The resolution of streaming is pathetic at best, which causes the choppiness you see. Ask a friend if they have Sprint TV and gag yourself at the clarity. VZW launched MediaFLO because other carriers thought it was a good idea, but never hopped on board until now. Expect better things to come from Quallcomm, like more channels, possibly even Pay-[er-view programming as well in the future.

hey annonymous 87. The signal technology does not dictate who has cooler phones. being GSM doesnt mean that a phone is going to be better. It is up to the manufacturers. VZW has kept their service locked and under control.. thats why our service is so far above everyone elses. Besides, with open access, all a manufacturer has to do is stick in a cdma chip instead of a gsm chip, and vioala, you have that supercool gsm phone u like so much on VZW quality network. I could go into all the technical qualifications why CDMA is so much better than GSM... but i dont think you could comprehend it. just because everyone else is doing something different, doesnt mean they are right. There is a reason WE are the most reliable, not them, and there is a reason WE are the most profitable, even moreso than ATT who has slightly more subscribers. Maybe they should switch to CDMA ? :D
