Unreleased Lenovo handset has specs revealed through Bluetooth SIG
With so much red tape for companies to wade through in the run-up to a new mobile device release, official announcements generally spawn precious few surprises. With IFA taking place this week in Berlin, the numerous retail and certification channels are bursting at the seams with new info on unreleased products. As Lenovo prepares for the small matter of the Moto Z Play's supposed introduction, a previously unseen new device from the Chinese brand has popped up through Bluetooth SIG.
Referred to as the 'Lenovo P2a42', the Bluetooth SIG overview offers a peek at the specs. Under the hood sits Qualcomm's octa-core Snapdragon 625 — the same SoC that adorns mid-rangers including the Xiaomi Redmi 4 and ZTE Axon Max 2. The documentation also references a 5.5-inch LCD display, along with a 5-megapixel selfie camera to accompany the 13-megapixel, rear-facing snapper.
As yet, there's no telling what the device will look like, where it will roll out, and for how much. According to reports, the purported Lenovo Vibe P2 recently checked through Geekbench with the model number 'P2c72', the same SD-625 chip and 4 gigs of RAM. Looking at both device numbers, it's possible that new and unspecified handset could be part of that family; perhaps it's a version of the Vibe P2 with less RAM or other adjustments.
