Unlocked European HTC 10 and HTC One M9 to receive Android 7.0 inside of two weeks
A tweet from Graham Wheeler, the Product and Service Director at HTC EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa), has revealed the time frame that HTC has in mind for updating the unlocked HTC 10 and HTC One M9 to Android 7.0 in Europe. According to the tweet, both of these flagship models will start getting updated within the next two weeks. Once this is completed, the unlocked HTC One A9 will be next to receive the new Android build in Europe, although a time frame for that mid-range model's update is unknown.

Wheeler's two-week time frame beats a three-week window mentioned in a separate tweet from HTC tipster @LlabTooFeR. The latter sent out a message on Monday saying that issues with the update for the HTC 10 were holding it back for three weeks. According to Wheeler's message, HTC is also trying to work things out with European carriers so that the branded versions of the HTC 10 and HTC One M9 can be updated at the same time as the unlocked models are.

Android 7.0 features an enhanced version of Doze, which saves battery life by stopping apps from running in the background after a phone has been idle for some time. It also includes the latest Unicode 9.0 emoji, the split-screen Multi-Windows multi-tasking feature, and a "clear-all" button that quickly closes all open apps on an Android 7.0 powered device.
