Unlock the bootloader on your HTC DROID DNA

Verizon pulled the plug on using HTC's Dev tools to unlock the beastly HTC DROID DNA, but there already is a method for unlocking the phablet that required you to have at least 1GB of free space on your HTC DROID DNA...

I was/am pleasantly surprised by this phone. I bought it to replace my abused GNex and I must say, it is a beast. Not only is it fast as sh!t but the screen looks amazing and the battery life has been great compared to my GNex (16 hrs vs 7 hrs respectively). Being involved in the rooting community, I was bummed to see this had a locked bootloader, but now... this phone is limitless.
Good things are coming, people would be foolish to pass this phone up.

Man, I have the GNex and have been contemplating upgrading to this phone or the MAXX HD.
How good is this battery in comparison to the GNex, How much screen time to you typically get in a single charge?
My GNex never gives me more than 1 hour of screen time in 12 hours of being unplugged. How is the DNA?

Sense+ doesn't show screen time sadly. All I can tell you is with my DNA I can go a full day with out even worrying about getting to a charger. I always leave my 4g on with my dna and i get 12-17 hrs with normal use (lots of texting, decent amount of twitter/facebook, and some web browsing/games). With the GNex (oc'd to 1804) would get 8-10 hrs max if I would turn my data off when I wasn't using it.
If you're used to the gnex like i was (got it on launch day) then the dna will be an upgrade on the battery front.

Did you download the battery widget from Google Play? I find that's a nice app/ widget for keeping track of power usage.

That Thanksgiving day game was really hilarious, more of a comedy than sports.

Was going to get this phone but I can't bite the bullet and eat Verizon's crappy ass data plans for smartphones, it's cost a lot more than the data plans for tablets which is a pack of crap. Looks like I will have to go LG Nexus on T-mobile as much as I dislike T-Mobile hit or miss Android updates at least won't have to care about that using the Nexus 4.
No idea who is coming up with VZW's plans but they are utter garbage, but with 4G anything less than $30 for 4GB of data is useless for anyone who uses the DNA or any SD card less phone. Lost of data shuttling with that small on board storage and everyone talking about cloud storage.
DNA is one beast of a phone though, you have to use it in person. Screen is luscious, and OS is leaping lizards fluid as hell and that screen is vivid and colorful, Super Amoled what? Yea whatever deeper blacks perhaps but this Super LCD is just so sexy. Now if HTC hurry up and release this phone as an unlocked GSM phone and I will snatch it up quickly.

I used my "upgrade" from my new ipad to order this. Since my SGS III is unlimited, I am keeping that. The VZW sales lady told me pretty much to activate the DNA by calling, go online and do the switch device from my iPad. It will tell me it is incompatible with my plan (the one from the DNA). Then just swap the SIM card from my SGS III to the DNA and I would keep both my unlimited data and phone number assigned to it. The way it was explained to me, it's all about the SIM card.
If she is wrong, I'll send it back before I give up unlimited data. The DNA will be here Wednesday so I will know for sure then.
