Ubuntu for Android is a project that we're pretty excited for. We've talked before about how this sort of synergy seems to be the logical next step for mobile devices, and we've eagerly been waiting to see how it all works. Well, the platform was just demoed at...

The best part of article:
"Also, as you'll notice pretty quickly, the video is all in Portuguese, but we would recommend jumping to YouTube to watch the video and turn on the automatic translation captions on the video. They aren't helpful at all, but they are pretty funny for just how terrible they are. There aren't a lot of captions, but when they do pop up, they are pretty funny. Our favorite was the translation, "I think she's a statistic.""

Actually its Atrix 2, and with gingerbread on board it is supposed to run ubuntu with firefox browser when connected to lapdock at least. So not that much of a news but hey its pretty slick!

I love ubuntu and all... but umm why not remote desktop? just sayin, im pretty sure if you are into linux, chances are youre a nerd and have better machine to run it at home, than an Atrix.
and if your gonna tell me its good for portability, any cheap tablet or phone can remote desktop to your server. Luggin a dock, and flatpanel tv is not my idea of portability/practicality.
jus sayin

dont worry, im brazilian
" this is an gadget with android, which can also works with ubuntu. this is not an emulation, this is the whole ubuntu running in an android device. This is the atrix 2, a standard smartphone, but when you put it in a dock, you'll have the ubuntu's desktop, customized, of course. for example, when you open an aplication like libre office, it'll run in the cellphone. And this is the whole ubuntu, and one thing very interesting is that the andoid OS its running at the same time as ubuntu, when you recieve a SMS, you can see it by the desktop, and you also can make a big phone, like the camera. its connected in the wifi, when you´re doing something and suddenly the phone starts to ring, you can take it from the dock and accept the call, and just put it back to have the ubuntu. The phone must have a dual-core, and 1 gb of ram (some conversation about the motorola's lapdock) so he talks about instalation, and drivers access
