Ubuntu convergence shown with the same app running on a phone, tablet, and PC

One of the most compelling visions for the future of computing is in the idea of convergence - the idea that there should be one operating system that spans all devices. Some companies are taking a slow road to convergence (Microsoft/Google), and some companies don't believe that this is the way forward (Apple). Canonical is the one company going all out on convergence with Ubuntu, and we're starting to see exactly how that will work...

100% agreed. While I'm not Ubuntu user myself, I admire the spirit and attitude.

It will be hard in the future to choose your devices:
Nexus => pure Android
Motorolla Project Ara => the ultimate modular device
Ubuntu => No limit on your phone or tablet
iDevices for Apple lovers
Google Glass
Smartwatch
Samsung devices for those who love their features like Multiscreen...=> (Please don't shoot me for this one, Samsung is the world best seller)

This is how computing should be done. With Apple you have to create a different version with each different type of device - this is great work, Canonical

Convergence huh? Microsoft put tiles on everything, and called it a day.

Microsoft is moving towards converging all of its platforms very well.. With every update the synergy between the devices is coming together as expected..
.....................
My Windows 8 machine looks, functions, and synchronizes with my WP devices very well, and it's plain to see what MS is shooting for here.. In the past few years they've done a lot of work, abandoning old products, and OS's, and it's paying off now.. Although not perfect, and not complete, the Win8 platforms, and Xbox, are coming together beautifully... Good job MS!

Imagine a PadFone like device having this OS, you have phone and then you keep it in Tablet dock and it becomes a Tablet, connect it to Monitor, it is full blown Desktop OS. Ubuntu is the most loved and hated GNU-LINUX distro..
