Not a proven enough commodity for the Government. This is not a slam on WP, as everyone knows I am quite the cheerleader for them. It is just too new. They will need to see years of proven usage as a body of work before they will even consider them. How long has Android and the iPhone been players, and they are JUST NOW testing them out.

Case in point: When I got out of the U.S. Navy in 1996, communication gear was just beginning to test solid state equipment. I was still working on receivers that had vacuum tubes in them, for the love of all that's Holy. But transistors and tubes had a dependability to them, so the Navy was not in any hurry to move away from them.

Needs to be FIPS certified

Last time I checked iPhone was denied FIPS... I'll have to check though.

Checked. It is listed still as "in-process" though some of the older modules have been approved so may run older iOS versions.

Blackberry didn't adapt to a changing market and now android and iOS have picked up so much steam it will be hard to turn it around.

RIM is stuck at the year 2004

I believe that after BB 10 gets a year rim is going to stop making their BB line and make a whole new device

I SMILE WHEN I LOOK AT YOURCOMMENTS REGARDING RIM.

RIM WILL PREVAIL.

All caps? You are a die hard, like those Symbian die hards.

RIM is basically killing themselves slowly, have you seen how stuck in the past every design they have come up with has been? Losing market share left right and center...it's good that you are on the positive thinking side. I gave up on RIM after owning two blackberries, Storm and Storm II and after both I went to android, noticed that RIM hasn't released anything worthwhile since the Torch. All their phones seem to sport the same specs.

WELL BOSS. I OWN A CERAMIC WHITE GALAXY S2 AND A BOLD 9900 PLUS A 64GNAT PLAYBOOK AND IN STILL HAPPY WITH RIM ON THE CORPORATE SIDE. ANDROID IS FOR TWEAKING AND MODING.
