ok, first of all, yes you can have the iphone unlocked but as soon as apple updates the firmware again it is going to be relocked to att, in response to "Viper Matrix XM" you sir, should have all the information before you make posts when you have no idea what you are talking about, also be aware by "jailbreaking" the iphone you void the warrantee and risk bricking the phone, long story short, if you do not like att, then do not buy the iphone, if you buy the iphone then expect to be with att for atleast 2 years, simple as that, in the united states it is att or nothing

The price is what it is, take it or leave it! You have a choice be a man or woman and make one! There is no phone like the Iphone ask any geek or tech head they will tell you that! It has draw backs all phones do! There is no phone that has it all and is cheap! Look at all the phones that have come out since the first Iphone they are all trying to catch up! This phone is user friendly and offers a lot for such a small device combination entertainment and business savvy you cant get anywhere. Samsung and HTC have similar phones but they both lack the appeal style and easy of the Iphone. Yeah you are paying a lot for 3g but remember for those of us that actually leave our home state now you can travel outside the US without a problem! If you don't like it don't buy! All this talk makes me realize how much this phone has impacted cellular service in one year!!!!!!!!!!!!! peace

It's really not all that expensive. It's a jump, sure, but certain other carriers have identicle monthly pricing on their "smart phones." Look, all I want to know is, do VZW employees get a discount at AT&T???

By 2015 is going to be att and vzw that's gonna be left. That means be ready for a higher plan. By then , Metropcs will have their footprint in NY.
