yes the bf05 version of the software just had touchscreen issues, whereas the bf25 firmware has touchscreen issues with a better dia pad and random reboots just for good measure

58. (unregistered) posted on 30 Oct 2008, 02:13

BF25 does not have random reboot problems. Get your facts straight. The Firmware fixed most of the issues of BF05. What the BF25 did not fix was the sorely needed Auto correction software.

ok so since apparently my facts arent straight explain to me why my bf05 didnt randomly reboot but when i returned it and got a bf25 all of a sudden it just randomly started rebooting and then when thaqt one crashed i got another bf25 the rebooting continues. Please before you make an a$$clown out of yourself get your facts straight

The Glyde should be out of quarantine now. With a software update tentativly scheduled for release on 11-04-08. Its said to have Touch improvement including a bigger dialpad amongst other things. So your Glyde will be replaced with a Glyde once again. And its back on the shelf for purchase.

funny thats exactly what the software update in august claimed right down to the larger dial pad.. gotta source?

The BF25 Software did have the larger keypad, and was a little more responsive. My issues were with the phone rebooting, and erasing information when it booted back up. They should just cut their losses on this one.

Our stores techs got this email but nobody in management, sales, or ops in our region got it. I am in the mountain region so I don't think the west area is being pulled into this. I am the merchandising manager at my location so I would be one of the first to know if we were supposed to pull the glyde off the floor. We have not and are still selling them. Also, the glyde isn't really that bad. I have one as a concession device and while it's not my favorite device in the store it is still a pretty trick device for the price point. boo hoo I guess if you opted to pay $80 for a touchscreen phone instead of $200 for the dare and are now captain sad pants that capacitive touch isn't as reliable as the pressure sensitive screens that have been the bread and butter of the touch screen world for decades.

hey number 34...also tech support for verizon wireless....guess what when u get our info, that means absolutely NOTHING!!!!! Please, understand that, also this is Verizon's situation so when you speak with me, tech support I will def offer a Voyager or Krave, I will pretty much give you ANYTHING you want, know why? Because i just dont care that much about telling you no and i hate idiots that call in being ridiculous! So if i'm willing to give you anything you want, like most of tech support, dont be stupid, dont yell, because it def gets you put on hold or in"time out" like we like to call it! Please call, state your case, we are human beings and we like to be treated like humans. And if you people would wait at least a few months before you jump on the newest bull shit that comes out and then call us and then call us and ask the questions you need to ask! Then we could tell you, hey that phone isnt all that great...but you too busy keeping up with the jones' with the stupid touch screens that you cant see past anything else! Phones take years to develop and manufacture and test and you guys rush it and rush the process and get pissed when it doesnt work right..hmmm really smart! BTW been working for 4 years so, i know exactly what i'm talking about. In closing, my point wasnt to insult VZW customers who enjoy gadgets, bc i'm one of them. But dont think you can't be nasty to us, human beings, and expect to get the service you need. Now that i've wasted my life typing this novel about the job i hate...i will say goodnight!

You are so full of **** we do not give customers anything they want and you obviously dont know s*** about policy and procedure. The Krave is no where in the substitution matrix and you are beyond talking out your a** because no supervisor in the world in going to approve of you putting a customer on hold for being an a** hole. Grow up and get on with life because you dont know anything about how any of this works.

glyde sucks crapiest phone ever to be made and i work for verizon wireless

60. (unregistered) posted on 01 Nov 2008, 14:57

samsung will have an update on the glyde within the next week or so. it should be available in stores to correct the glyde issues. this is the reason it has been reinstated the devices were pulled for like 3 days and the glydes were being exchanged with the env 2 but since the announcement of the new software coming for the device this device is no longer quarentened

63. (unregistered) posted on 01 Nov 2008, 15:17

i had a glyde that broke in early July,,, but it can still be used but the screen is messed up, is it possible to still be able to return it and exchange it for an env2.??

65. (unregistered) posted on 01 Nov 2008, 16:16

i think its absolutely hysterical how this phone has been recalled numerous times and has such a bad reputation, but if you go to samsung's mobile home page it's the first thing you see right on the main screen!!! Samsung must not have gotten the memo..............

77. (unregistered) posted on 01 Nov 2008, 23:39

do yourself a favor 1) leave verizon (sprint is better, plus you get just about the same amount of coverage thanks to roaming agreements) 2) if 1 is not an option get a blackberry curve. No touchscreen, but reliability. Other than the trackball needing to be cleaned occasionally and a memory issue that's resolved with the included memory card, you dont have an issue (unless you're just retarded, in which case, do us all a favor and go to metro where retards belong)

79. Midnight (unregistered) posted on 02 Nov 2008, 10:34

wow Phone Arena, you are slow on this one. atleast 5 days ago there was a reslease that we can again sell the glyde because a firmware upgrade is coming 11/4 that is supposed to fix most issues.

89. (unregistered) posted on 03 Nov 2008, 17:07

this has been on here for like 10 days.

82. (unregistered) posted on 02 Nov 2008, 13:31

Again another HF posting and can be dismissed as a fool with Photoshop. When are people going to learn that this is what is wrong with forums is some idiot posts a fake add and next thing you know thousands of suckers buy right into it and you would think it where gospil. The facts are there is no recall on the device the device issues are always and will always be taken on a case by case basis. There is no master plan to move customers to an Env2 and everything about this is fake. For gods sake just look at the wording and tell me this looks like any other legitimate posting that was done with Verizon insider info. This was written by a customer with Photoshop. Grow up and stop drinking the koolaide.

Any updates/confirmation on the firmware upgrade? I can't send a text or even dial on this phone, because 80% of the time the touchpad starts going automatically, clicking the buttons at the bottom. I've only had this thing for a month, and I am very disappointed. I was going to take it back today, until I read this thread. If the touchscreen issue is going to be fixed, then I'll hold on to it. My wife and I just switched to Verizon last month (through Best Buy). What experiences have others had trying to exhange/replace phones there???
