Due to an 'issue' with the Glyde, Verizon has stopped selling it...

Basically, Samsung made the phone, Verizon sells it with their logo/software on it. People assume automatically that VERIZON actually built the phone. Sometimes the way the manufacturer builds the phone doesnt cooperate with the software and/or the network it's on. So he's saying don't hate the selling company, hate the company that made it (ie Samsung.). As for the second half, LG the company that made the VOYAGER and the DARE seems to work better with the VZW netowrk and they seem to take their time to ensure product capability and satisfaction. LG seems to have a better track record for reliability and sales across most networks as far as regular phones.

Don't settle for an enV2. Don't get me wrong, it's a good phone, but honestly they want to downgrade you. Just pull the "Well I guess I'm gonna have to switch to AT&T" and they'll probably offer up a Voyager or Dare.

LOL! The env2 isn't a downgrade from the glyde. Just because the glyde has a capacitive touch screen doesn't make it an upgrade from the enV2. The enV2 is a pretty sick phone. My bluetooth keyboard I use on my 6900 works on an enV2! Doesn't work on the glyde. There is better hardware installed on the enV2!, that's why that is trade off. The only thing you step down from on a glyde to the enV2 is teh pathetic HTML-like browser that is on dumbphones right now. If you really want to complain about getting a touchscreen, I would try and get yourself into the 6900! That phone is sweet! Voyager-SUX!, Dare-SUX!, iGarbage-SUX!

wow. the 6900 is ok if you need win mo. but if you wanna play that game, the 6800 blows away the 6900.it will do everything the touch will do WITH wifi and a full keyboard.

i wonder what they will do with all the left over glydes when its not being sold maybe until they are all gone they will sell them for free.

How do you sell an item for free?

66. (unregistered) posted on 01 Nov 2008, 16:54

Look in the dictionary for the work sell(sale). SMART GUY!!

Given the economy probably offer it up as a contract signer (free phone after rebate). So now since everyone hates spending money they'll all have the same problems. You pay nothing you get nothing.

23. (unregistered) posted on 27 Oct 2008, 15:00

Just make something up that they cant prove like it restarts randomly or the touch screen doesnt work.

There stop selling them all together. I called and told them that my touch screen was not working properly and that I had to power off/on my phone 3-4 times a day because i couldnt hit the keys to make a call. They said they stopped selling the phones and that they would replace it with a EnV2. I said no I have a touch screen phone that I already paid more for and that was the reason I bought it. I told them I wanted a Dare in exchange. The CSR then put a manager on the phone and she stated I would have to pay the $50 price difference. I told her that they put a bad and un-tested phone on the market that i bought, so they need to eat something. She offered that I pay $25 and I will get a brand new dare shipped in 2 days. I said that sounds ok. So $25 brand new phone with better touch screen but no key board. Oh ya im in the Detroit area so I dont know what there talking about in the west coast.

im in georgia

I'm not so sure this has to do with the touchscreen. If it was that they would have pulled it months ago. I believe that a certain number of Samsung ESN/MEIDs have trouble connecting with some of the tower hardware. I may be wrong though.

31. (unregistered) posted on 27 Oct 2008, 20:10

i just tried to return my glide today because i can basically do nothing on it since the touch screen is so bad. The sales guy told me that the only phone i could get was the enV2..... not to mention that the enV2 is ugly is hell, it doesnt have a touch screen. All of us Glyde owners should at least receive a new touchscreen phone.
