What does AMOLED mean?

3. Skippy posted on 26 Aug 2009, 20:25

AMOLED is like a type of display. Just google it.

4. bng posted on 26 Aug 2009, 20:26

its a type of screen i don't really now how to explain it all i now is that it save battery life and its one of the best screens for phones out the that i know lol

12. remixfa posted on 27 Aug 2009, 07:19

the screen is brighter, stands up great to sunlinght, colors are hot, and its lower power. better all the way around.

22. gomets15217 posted on 27 Aug 2009, 13:14

except the shorter lifespan of the screen =/

active-matrix organic light-emitting diode = AMOLED :) if i remember correctly it doesnt use up as much battery as other screens, that was the big thing they were saying with the Samsung Impression..

someone on another website said that the rogue was going to have a document reader like the enV Touch. does anyone know if this is true?

6. Skippy posted on 26 Aug 2009, 21:19

Dang, I can't wait for this phone :DD

7. brikz4real posted on 26 Aug 2009, 21:39

The enV Touch will still be the best "dumbphone" in the lineup for two major reasons: Support for 1 million colors on the screen and support for online Flash videos. I do like what Samsung is doing here though. Hopefully, it will make people completely forget the nightmare-of-a-phone it's replacing: the Glyde. Plus, the AMOLED display will be a KILLER. I hope all phones eventually go to this technology as it displays colors better and is more responsive to the touch. But the real question is: How is the battery life going to improve? Since AMOLED displays conserve energy better than TFT displays, that shouldn't be a worry.

What's the difference between a data package vs a connect/premium plan? Thanks

13. remixfa posted on 27 Aug 2009, 07:20

neither, they are both unlimited internet. the only diff is the premium plan adds navigator

24. 22ADin09 posted on 27 Aug 2009, 17:16

which is kinda a cool add on considering with the non premium plan vz nav is an extra 10 bucks...

9. xmguy posted on 26 Aug 2009, 22:40

Does this mean people like me on the Nationwide Basic with Vpak won't be enough?

14. remixfa posted on 27 Aug 2009, 07:20

vcast is the unlimited internet for phones that dont have it as a plan, ur fine.

17. xmguy posted on 27 Aug 2009, 07:26

K, Thanks

321, is on to something with necessary plan change becoming necessary to own a feature phone. I wouldn't have a problem with it if it was Web OS, Android or WinMo, they figured the Instinct made good and now has offspring too so Verizon could milk more money to increase the APRU

15. remixfa posted on 27 Aug 2009, 07:21

or it could be that the internet is active w/ or w/out a plan, and just like when smart phones used to have a pay as u go, u get A LOT of complaints from parents and idiots wondering why they are being charged per MB. it actually increases happiness and reduces complaints.

Again, will this phone use the VPAK or the $29.99 data plan?
