the reason the 8600 was dumped pre-mature was due to the software upgrades not fixing the issues it had. thats the only reason. No one cared about the 5th largest cell company using our 8600.

I do love the features but I am not too big on the whole switch to the clamshell form... I really preferred the slider.....

Actually it does look a little like a Nano. Great phone though 1 gig, you don't see that too much.

Upon prior launch of the LG Decoy (LG-VX8610)... I thought the Decoy was the new Chocolate, and the LG 8560 was the new replacement... going by looks and functionality alone, instead of the sequential numbers in the names. But, I was wrong... and even though I would prefer a slider phone to match up with the other past 2 Chocolates, this may be a new change that the Chocolate is needing to redeem itself from problems from the prior two sliders.

I wasn't too keen on this one until I actually held it...not too bad.

I can't imagine the fm modulator being strong enough to make it a great feature... the FCC has pretty much regulated fm modulator strengths to the point where there are useless. Ask anyone who has bought the newest generation sirius/xm radios....

No matter what name they give this phone, it will always end with a ~tard on the end.

LG is copying SE's design. This is the exact same form of the SE Alice coming up. and LG did copy the SE W350i form as well. Design ur own damn phone, will ya.

lol i like how people are angerd at the phones being "crippled" keep in mind its a damn phone. and its meant for one thing. so all of you people who expect to get handed everything you want in a phone keep wishing and if you dont like the phone dont buy it and move on to a different phone that will let you wreck the damn thing so you void the warranty. have fun

Maybe if Verizon would just release phones that allow the user to enjoy all the features promised by their devices without lockouts people wouldn't have to void their warranties to get what they paid for. If you're buying a phone to just make calls you won't be buying one like this. They make cheaper ones that serve that purpose just fine.

if it werent for said lockouts to certain devices, than it would potentially compromise the integrity of not only the phone but also to the network

Right. We all know how often Bluetooth OBEX and the ability to set your own files as ringers brings down a cellular network.

I'm hoping the new chocolate doesn't have as many problems as the older 2. I'd love to sell more music-centric phones that don't get replaced every other month for warranty issues....

Um... Is it just me or is there also a typo in that picture taken from the testman site? Why would one color be a 2.0 MP camera, and One be a 1.3 MP camera, but still be the same phone, same price, same launch date... Any comments? hehe.

Hmmm... I hope it would be a typo because thats just werid.

It is a typo. You can check out the phone on verizon's testman site athttp://testman.verizonwireless.com Once your there just change your zip code location to 99999 and the phone will appear in the list of cell phones.
