2. tflex posted on 18 Mar 2010, 14:44

lol yeah that does suck... i remember when the iphone had issues with their updates and all the verizon people ran their mouths talkin crap as usual. Now its their turn to see how it is for their precious overrated Droid and flawless Verizon network.

3. rjt185 posted on 18 Mar 2010, 14:45

Compared to AT&T's network? ...yeah I'd say flawless can apply.

5. tflex posted on 18 Mar 2010, 14:54

In most places, verizon is no better than att. In fact, my phone gets better signal in many places than verizon users especially at my workplace. It all matters on where you live. Also, I would never want a carrier that uses the outdated CDMA technology. Verizon has their issues just like any other carrier does and always will. People see those dumb coverage commercials and get brainwashed just like the average stupid consumer and claim Verizon is the best network with no problems. People need to get a clue.

8. godsarmylds posted on 18 Mar 2010, 15:23

HAHA, well you can't really say CDMA is outdated. infact Verizon kept CDMA so long because it acually pumps out a better signal than GSM. But you should also know that verizon is on the Edge of releasing LTE which will blow ATT's crappy GSM out of the universe. In the perfect controled envirment they have seen the LTE download 100 mb/s yea huge. But for now when it gets officially release in certain parts of the US in approx. July. You will see you getting around 12 to 20mb/s. Which is pretty cool when your average Home DSL only does about 6 to 9. And ATT is so far behind getting their LTE up and going. So don;t get to excited about GSM, THAT'S PRETTY OLD SCHOOL in its self.

I drive all over the country and you have to buy a cell phone for the area you live / travel in. I have found CDMA does have better coverage throughout the country, but AT&T does have coverage some places my VZW phone doesn't. (I carry both) That said, your stab at the commercial doesn't quite follow your previous statement. The commercial is ONLY referring to 3g data coverage and not voice coverage. Verizon does have the best roaming coverage out their that I have found. My friend has T-Mobile and has never had an issue, because he has a service that fits his needs.

Yeah but if you think about it, why does it matter if VZW gets LTE first? We're not gonna be looking at an LTE phone until 2011. So unless you like carrying around a wireless modem stick and paying a premium for it until you can get your hands on an LTE phone that is BOTH CDMA and LTE compatible LTE is useless at this point. By the time an LTE phone comes out, AT&T and T-Mobile will have upgraded their infrastructure to support higher speeds to ACTUALLY use on phones until LTE phones are actually in production and at the same time have a solid backup for strong 3G speeds while LTE is not as prevalent. Imagine a world with VZW where you get blazing fast LTE but the second you leave your covered area you have to go back to 3mbps. In the GSM world we're looking at a 21mbps backup network. Its still a difference, but using real world speeds, would be a lot better to use than CDMA. In addition, unlike CDMA, GSM is actually backwards compatible with LTE so VZW will have a limited range of available phones at some point next year but the amount of LTE phones to choose from for T-Mobile and AT&T will be almost limitless considering GSM is a technology used almost worldwide.

Tflex... CDMA is "NEWER" than typical GSM. GSM 64 bit... CDMA 512 bit!... It can handle more calls and more data than GSM... GSM is outdated, the world just decided to stick with an inferior technology with GSM. Talking and browsing the web only happens at the same time b/c Voice is done of GSM and data is done over UMTS, two different types of signal. B/C CDMA 1xrtt 2000 and EVDO are using the same frequency, you cannot do talk and text at the same time. LTE on vzw will remedy this, as Voice will be done over CDMA and data will be done on LTE.... will verizon let you do both voice and data at the same time is the question. Bit you are wrong tFlex CDMA>GSM and has been proven time and time again. The reason GSM is used so much is b/c CDMA is a US technology and GSM was a Finish technology and the EU takes care of its own.

16. macron2000 posted on 18 Mar 2010, 16:34

uh, actually VZW's LTE takes the best of GSM and CDMA. So to say that GSM is outdated, there has to be a reason as to why the rest of the world is uses GSM and not CDMA. So, when you finally do get your beloved LTE service up and going, just might want to thank your lucky GSM stars for what it offers.

at&t is slated to release LTE summer 2011, as is verizon's launch of their first LTE capable phones. Yes, LTE has lab results of 100mbps but in real life conditions expect to see speeds in the 5 to 12 mbps range. at&t is rolling out 7.2mbps this year which will only make their speeds faster than what verizon is currently offering. Difference between at&t and verizon's upcoming LTE? at&t isn't running their mouth about what they're GOING to do, they're just doing it. I have no problem with verizon, they were more than adequate for the 4 years I was with them. I have a problem with fanboys running their mouths without a firm grasp of what's going on.

19. numberonenygfan posted on 18 Mar 2010, 16:53

your comment is rediculous.. you think that att has better coverage then verizon? your out of your mind. dispite your luke wilson impression, you my friend need to get a clue! Verizon by far has lead the industry in call clarity and the amount of people across the country that are actually able to get verizon services.. do you really think that they would have over 90 million wireless subscribers walking around with cell phones that dont get service just because of the advertisments? No they have it because it works! the advertisments just back up an already great service. So stop acting like the washed up actor spokesperson and start waking up..just becaue you live in a nook where vzw doesnt have service and you do.. doesnt mean its better! And to be honest if I were Verizon I wouldnt want an ignorant customer bogging down my phones lines to whine about stupid crap! Enjoy att, loser customer on a loser network=tflex

23. deschats posted on 18 Mar 2010, 17:01

the world uses gsm because it allows better roaming. why do you think on verizon they have special phones that allow world wide roaming? because those phones use both cdma and gsm.

24. deschats posted on 18 Mar 2010, 17:04

GAHH. you people dont understand that att is mostly sucky because all the data their customers use! iphones take up atleast 60 or more % of their network and those things use tooooons of data. their system is clogged because of their iphone.

29. Trobes05 posted on 18 Mar 2010, 18:55

Verizon could handle the data that ATT does easily. The reason ATT can't is because they do not have enough GSM towers. One CDMA towers is as good as three GSM towers. Just because you explain why the network is crappy doesn't mean it gets a pass. Could I sell you a house that is deteriorating but tell you why and you would then be happy to buy it? You realize you are basically saying "ATT's network is bad because the users are using the network".

32. DonkeyPunched posted on 18 Mar 2010, 19:02

You take mobile services too seriously. You need to get a life and get off phone arena lol.

33. DonkeyPunched posted on 18 Mar 2010, 19:04

When you people talk about clogging the network, where are your references to this? Because I've been on AT&T for 4 years, 3 of the years had an iPhone, and I never have problem with the service, reception, or speeds.
