UK ASUS Transformer Prime confirmed for January – dock required

The anticipated January release for the ASUS Eee Pad Transformer Prime in the UK has been confirmed by ASUS. Pocket-lint was able to get this confirmation directly from the horse’s mouth with a little bit of extra information.

As opposed to other markets where consumers have the option to purchase the tablet or the tablet with the dock, ASUS has 86ed the sans-dock option. Instead, ASUS has decided to only offer the tablet with the dock packaged together for £499, which is about $775 US.

ASUS has also said that it will not be offering a 3G version of the tablet, so users will be restricted to Wi-Fi only in the UK. While many of the options are disappearing for the UK crowd, they will still have a choice in color – Champagne Gold or Amethyst Grey.
