UDOO Android/Linux box conquers Kickstarter, bridges the gap between Arduino and Raspberry Pi

UDOO is an extremely interesting project aiming to bridge the gap between Arduino micro-controllers and the Raspberry Pi single-board computer. It is the best of both worlds supporting simple management of sensors...

This is awesome! I had done my final year robotics project using Arduino Duemilanove, and this looks so superior to that one. Very well priced and useful board. I'll probably look into it more and order it :)

ah, I remember stuff like this in my final project.. Atmel, arduino...

The Raspberry Pi is actually a "Linux/GNU" running single board computer. I'm sure it can run Android as well, but I just wanted to clear that up.

As far as I know, there are Android ROMs for the Raspberry Pi. That said, it is primarily geared towards desktop Linux. They recommend a Debian-based distribution built for ARM.

i was waiting for this board
i was thinking why are the pins on the raspberry pi so badly placed
and why is there nothing to get a big color screen on arduino
but you brought the solution for the people who can't choose between those 2
the negative things that there is that there are no 5V inputs ?
but i know 5V is getting old and most new chips only support 3.3 V
and only 2 UBS's
but a slitter will do it
an idea a board that convert the 3.3V in and outputs to 5V
or does this already exist?
great idea i hope that i can find it soon
i realy want to see it.
i think that it will knock out the raspberry
you got 10 times the clock speed
14 more pins and female headers
