Just when we thought that Android phone manufacturers have learned their lesson, it seems the same old story is about to repeat itself...

I can say I understand you guys but I don't, here in Apple camp we don't know how it feels to wait months for an upgrade...

I will agree with this, I do admire Apple for their amount of support for their older devices. However, even though you guys in Apple camp do get updates, remember for each generation you are behind more features get stripped away. At least with Android, when you do receive an update, you get the full benefits of it. Also, remember Apple only has 14 devices they need to worry about updating, meanwhile Android manufacturers usually have a plethora of devices that need updating. I think that's one of the only downfalls of Android.
Another thing, even though iOS users get immediate (limited) support, Android users have other means of getting the same support you all do; like rooting and getting a stock build of the latest software. Or, if you don't really enjoy rooting, get an unlocked Nexus. Granted, we shouldn't have to go that extra length just to get an update. Manufacturers/carriers need to tighten up when it comes to updates.

Suxs to own a GS III now does it? Just glad I never rush out like everyone else do. I always wait until i read that the company going to update their software to 4.1. SOO GLAD i was one of the only smart ones not to buy THE GS III I will probably wait for the GALAXY NOTE THAT comes with JELLY BEAN or wait till next year for the GS IV or the NOTE III because they probably won't upgrade till Spring but that's my guess. I'm waiting til CES for new JELLYBEAN PHONES 2013

Then, the Note II folks will complain about how it is going to get the 4.2 update way after the international version. It's a never-ending cycle.
I have the Galaxy Nexus on Verizon. It's typically the last Nexus to get an update. So, I know about waiting for updates (actually my wife does-her phone is not rooted). I rooted it a couple of days after I got it. I get the updates as soon as they are posted to AOSP (I use CM10).

The next phone I get will be the next Nexus device, unlocked. I could care less for LTE to be perfectly honest. HSPA+ works fine enough in my area. But I am sick of the carrier bloatware and the contstant waiting for updates.
Make no mistake about it, devices like the SGS3, HTC One X, LG G, Motorola Droid Razor HD/MAXX are/will be awesome devices, even if they are all on ICS, they still run very smoothly without any real issues or lag. But of course, everyone wants to have the latest updates, now.

Not sure why anyone is surprised by this? All US based Galaxy variants have always received updates much later than the international versions. Verizon's version will be the last to get it, as is the tradition.

It seems American smartphone users getting shafted has become a continuous trend.
