Tweet from Windows Phone Design Team laughs at suggestion of complete redesign for Windows Phone 9

Just a few days ago, Russian blogger Eldar Murtazin reported that in 2015, Microsoft was going to do a total rebuild of Windows Phone with the release of Windows Phone 9; this version of Microsoft's mobile OS would not be compatible with Windows Phone 8 so that Redmond could "unify phone and tablet OS," even though this was a stated goal of Windows Phone Blue for next year...

I like the current os with the live tiles, but better redesign than never... Make it flatter...
wp8 is flat and nice, but not as flat as ios7 :)
24. wendygarett (unregistered)
Make the live tiles some translucentcy effect like ios7, make a wallpaper responding to our movement like ios7, transparent keyboard like ios7... Microsoft will definitely grab my money :)

Nope, iWant choice :)

Get rid of the stupid tiles and make it run windows 8.1 (obviously a phone optimized version) powered by intel or AMD x86 cpus.

I would love a phone that ran x86 instead of those inferior ARM chips.

S800 are not power enough for you, really?
Atom X86 Baytrail are all on Par with T4 E5410 E5420

Maybe the Atom chips. I'm still not beliving that they are. They may come close. ARM Chips are competely inferior to real x86 chips.
27. Shatter (Posts: 2036; Member since: 29 May 2013)
Baytrail is the first chip that really makes arm look bad. Just wait a few years till they get an i3 or i5 in a smart phone. Arm has no response to baytrail their chips coming out at the end of 2014 will still be inferior to it while intel moves on to 14nm chips and continues to widen the gap between arm and x86 in mobile.
There is one leaked benchmark of a baytrail chip at 1.1ghz it scored 43000 in antutu. Thats really unclocked because baytrail is supposed to run at 2-2.2ghz.

Well they already did it going from WP 7 to 8. If that happens again.....wow. Well, it will give some WP fans a new starting point to go on about...
"This isnt WP8 its WP9, ect, ect" Some of them will treat 2015 as the beginning of WP...like some try to do now with WP7 and 8....like 7 never existed.
I find this odd:
"Just a few days ago, Russian blogger Eldar Murtazin reported that in 2015, Microsoft was going to do a total rebuild of Windows Phone with the release of Windows Phone 9. This version of Microsoft's mobile OS would not be compatible with Windows Phone 8 so that Redmond could "unify phone and tablet OS,"
Wasnt that the goal for WP8 and a reason for them basically starting over with WP8? What is Eldar trying to say...?

With that tweet the Windows Phone team obviously wants to decline the rumours that Eldar Murtazin is spreading. He has been right for some things before, but this time his information is definitely wrong.

You must make big changes. if you don't , Don't Sell Hahaha :|

Eldar's comments served one purpose...Eldar's purpose. I suppose he felt he was too much of a forgotten ghost and had to create decent BS to get into the blogosphere again. The guy is almost right 45% of the time...the other 55%...well...it's back to the drawing board for Eldar, apparently.

It would be great if they stop it with the tiles... and make the windows for mobile more like the one in PCs. That would be great ;)
With the desktop, start button etc.

No way... The live tiles on WP8 are the better way of doing it on a phone... What needs to change is the grid icons on the other OS's.
22. jroc74 (Posts: 5844; Member since: 30 Dec 2010)
If it aint broke.... dont fix it. Applies to many things. Seems to apply to mobile OS's too.
I applaud for MS introducing something new, different tho. Bottom line....if the Live Tiles really were the better way......WP would be leading in market share.... Its not like ppl walk into a store and WP phones arent on disply. or there are no commercials, ads for WP.
Ppl just arent into WP all that much right now. Maybe that will change sometime in the future.

They'd better not laugh too hard. At the rate Win 8 is going they'll have to do that in order to salvage the wreck.
32. Lyngdoh (Posts: 231; Member since: 06 Sep 2012)
They laugh because their design team has reached bottle-neck. They have no other design ideas.

So Wp8 was a fail!
So laughing at WP9 already
Microsoft pack up your Wp and declare Bankruptcy or Rip!
Let Nokia have there freedom! How pity Elop killed his own platform: Meego, Maeemo, Meltimi, S60 they have nothing left. Nor Sailfish or have the resources to verge with Andriod®
Nokia you are "Dooooooomed"
Rest in peace or start making low cheap budget phones and great camera along with Carl-Zeiss™

yeah you always post ur rants about windows phone, i bet u don't even have a single phone, do u? ur like a crying kid all the time..how old r you? im not a fan of nokia or any other OS, they're all cool, just imagine what kind of phones we have now than before.. they're all great isn't it? you TROLL doesn't have any idea about Nokia's plan & their strategy to go back to the market where they've been before, yes Android may be the "BEST" OS right now, but people may get tired of it in the next few years, got my point? so stop posting ur issues w/ nokia 'coz nokia has no issues w/u lil. go ask ur mom to buy u some lollipops & waste time lickin' it instead of posting nonsense comments her in PA.

What if they make own OS with fully loaded features and really smooth fluid experience. And developers will interest in it then start making apps and games and will hit 100,000 in 10 or 12 months that's for sure. Something unique, new design, fluid, interesting, and fun Nokia OS. Wow isn't.
15. akki20892 (Posts: 3874; Member since: 04 Feb 2013)
And That os support everything. Nokia 5" 1080p puremotion hd+, quad core Intel processor, Intel graphic chip, 3gb ram, 3000 battery, 20mp pureview camera no hump, aluminum unibody but can remove back cover and replace battery and Sd cards, hdmi output, water and dust proof, haac, Dolby sound, wireless charging. Etc

So again windows 8 devices will not be upgradable to Windows 9???
Same as what happen to wp 7.8???
So if you want to use windowd 9,Need to buy a new wp mobile at the time it comes???
30. justsayit (Posts: 256; Member since: 09 May 2013)
this is why i away from buying wp
hope wp9 will different,
better multitasking, upgradeable to wp10... and more
31. SakuroAkino (banned) (Posts: 141; Member since: 12 Jul 2013)
I dont think so that wp 9 devices will be upgradable to wp 10
as wp 8 flagship devices have got 1 gig of ram
And still they wont be ???
So i doubt about wp9 to wp10

"Scrapping everything and starting over? Hahaha... why not."
38. iWinDroid (Posts: 28; Member since: 17 Jul 2013)
:P that will probably take years to get the Windows 9 then, add those years that it took to create earlier versions plus the year that it will take to create a "whole new" W9. :)
36. iWinDroid (Posts: 28; Member since: 17 Jul 2013)
I would love a Lumia phone w/ Windows 8 & slow-mo option for their video recording :P

"Scrapping everything and starting over? Hahaha."
That elitist attitude earned them the $900 million loss with the Surface RT.
One day, or maybe not, M$ will listen to the folks with the $-the paying, or not, customer...
