When you attend some kind of gourmet cookout where food is abundant, you're some times able to sample a few of the delectable offerings before finally choosing a dish worthy enough for your appetite. Similar to that situation, Apple is looking to create the same atmosphere in its App Store by adding a new feature called “Try Before You Buy.” The name sums it all as you'll be presented with a list of applicable apps by clicking “Features” and then the giant yellow icon with an equally gargantuan text displaying “Free on the App Store.” Essentially it'll dish up some of the paid apps that have Lite versions which will give you a small sampling of what to expect – thus allowing you to make your own decision whether or not to go forward and buy that particular app. This isn't something new since the strategy of demos have long been employed through a variety of platforms – yes, even Windows Mobile! Regardless of it, iPhone owners will now have a marginally easier time scoping out all the free/lite apps in one hub without manually going through long lists.

Bout time. Android has been letting people refund their purchase if they don't like it. At least this is a step closer towards that.
